Do you really need 18A for an RX pack?I figured just about any AA battery would probably cover the current draw for an RX pack and I've seen AA's up to around 2600-2800mAh.(some for about $1 each)

Well I decided I needed a new charger. After cafefull consideration I chose the balance pro HD. For Three reasons. A: It charges up to 6s, B: It charges at 3C, C: It can charge at up to 10amps.

Don't get me wrong. I am not and have no plans to fly in such an area. In the simulator I picked this field to pratice landing. I'm trying to get my tecnique down. I wouldn't dream of flying a plane...

I was actually just trying something like that a bit ago..you do loose speed and alt pretty quickly..but controlably. Works pretty good.

The Techniqiue should be the same either way. Thats really my question. I know wind and cross wind etc effect landing. I pratice in all sorts of weather when I can't just run out a fly.

I've been practicing landing in a small area. In Realflight G3 flight sim I'm trying to land on a soccer field that has probably 15-20ft high bleachers surrounding it.

So far the best approach...

What is the proper name for Kokam(and others) balance tap connector(or others for that matter)

I'm trying to get up a list of the connector types for kokam, thunderpower, and all the other battery vendors taps.
I know the balance pro HD "tap/discharge" is a 7w2 connector. I can look them up...

Questions about Balance Pro HD charger

I've been in the market for another charger. wich ultimatly led me to the Balance pro HD 6s charger.
This thing sounds pretty sweet. It claims it will charge HD packs AND newer 12c+ anybrand cells...

It is two(or three) seperate items.

A fire tile, a ceramic flowerpot(from walmart he says) and a metal drawer handle probably from homedepot attached to the flower pot. oh..some washers too it...

er you go. up to 4s .5,1,1.5,and 2a charge rates. even charge two 2 cell packs. On the cheap. I got one, works great, nothing fancy but gets you into the current era of balance chargers...its safer...

Yes, you can use a Nihm pack in a plan that is set up for lipo. It will weight more per Mah however and the voltage cut off won't be the same so you'll have to look into that.
