Ouch!! It can be done. I looped my old Robbie Schluter Whopper last month. What a blast! I now have one flying and 3 in the basement waiting for engines and radios.

Electric Northstar??

Anyone done an Electric Northstar? With some of the brushless motors on the market, it seems like a good way to deal with the CG problem. Just put the battery in the front.

Finally got my Caleb in the air. With lots of work, I have it dialed in. I was wrong about the CG thing. The suggested CG from Baudis will give you a very forgiving model, but not much fun to fly....

GP pitts with BME 50

My BME 50 starts very easy. Put the choke on, flip untill it burps at 1/2 throttle, go to idle and turn off choke, it will fire on next flip!

my past experience is with helicopters where heavy blades help autorotation.
it is intersesting you mention the whopper. that is the exact gyro i am working with!
i guess i will try some...

other than breaking the head, what are the problems with heavy blades? i think they would be an advantage when spot landing and during engine failure.
