RE: Need "Budget" Engine for my Storm, any suggestions?

I would have gotten the RG from Tower a couple days ago if they had it in stock! I need the pilot shaft version (SG crank) and they only have the standard crank on hand. Ace didn't have the pilot...

RB Concepts .21CE

The CE is their 3-port "economy" engine, and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with it? I need a cheap-but-good engine for my buggy, but I can't afford a WS7 or anything like that. I want...

RE: Need "Budget" Engine for my Storm, any suggestions?

Unfortunately I initially thought it was a 5-port but it's the 3-port "economy" engine. Renegade R/C lists it as a "sport", but RB calls it "economy".

Renegade R/C has the 3-port CE (economy)...

RE: Need "Budget" Engine for my Storm, any suggestions?

I don't want to drop $170 on a 24.7 Pro, I really don't need that much motor. I really shouldn't even be spending $155 on an RB, but I'm willing to do so if I can get a confirmation that its...

RE: Need "Budget" Engine for my Storm, any suggestions?

But what about the power from that "cheap" RB? Comparable to or better than the OS RG?

Need "Budget" Engine for my Storm, any suggestions?

The stock RTR engine in my Storm is dead, thanks to a whole lotta dirt that made its way past the filter. I need a new engine.

What I've got is one GS SUT, one Storm buggy, and one O.S. .21RG...

RE: Ofna Picco .26 Outlaw Engine

RC Nitro magazine dyno'd it to 2.6hp, if my memory serves. The O.S. VZ-B dyno'd to 2.54hp and the Sirio .27 put out 2.91hp. Just for perspective...

RE: Bashing strength:savage or mammoth

Plastic gears in the Savage....yeah? So? It's also got metal gears where it needs them. I've had my Savage for 16 months and never broken any plastic gears except one spur thanks to operator error...

RE: Bashing strength:savage or mammoth

That'd be SMF, as in SlapMaFro, Mxracer! :D

I haven't driven a Mammoth, but I do know the Savage is tough as nails!

RE: Which one?

What do you want to do with it? The XTM is super fast, as has been stated, but few people need 52mph in an MT and it takes quite a while to get to that speed. The T-Maxx is the fastest accelerating...

RE: Schumaker Menace 21 VS HPI Nitro MT2

Assuming the MT2 diff gears are the same as the MT gears, you can step up to a set of RS4 on-road gears that are stronger and still cheap at around $8/set.

RE: Schumaker Menace 21 VS HPI Nitro MT2

The Menace is definitely capable of 60+ mph, it's been tested again and again.

The Menace is durable at "normal" speeds, but take any R/C vehicle and push it past 60mph and get air....it's going...

What do you want to use it for? Bashing? Racing? How is parts support for OFNA and HPI at your local hobby store?

RE: Which 1/8 scale MT to buy?

For bashing, I'd get the Savage 25 RTR. The MGT is out of your price range, the Storm SUT is awesome and should clean up at the track, but it doesn't have that much ground clearance (it's not...
