Use a small wedge between the former and base of the retract unit. About 3mm should do it.

I'm not familiar wth Supertec/GWS servos, but the torque you state is more than adeqate. The ones I'm using put out 3.9kg.

I have decided to go with JR DS 361. I changed to these on the ailerons initially but found that they would also be suitable on all surfaces. I have not left anything to chance with this...

If you are using the Wren 44 I would go with Wren's !0mm gap. I believe there has been a design change by Wren since Paul's original mount was built.

I'm using 5mm OD carbon tube with 3mm OD threaded rod epoxied inside. The Y piece is silver soldered. Your LMS should stock them.
