RE: 3D Blah Blah Blah

Yes I have seen many "good" 3D pilots. But I just can't watch it for very long without getting dizzy......
Hope to come out to the field one day. I have some planes I fly too.

On another...

RE: 3D Blah Blah Blah

Andy,
No I haven't. I don't have much time to get out to the field but one weekend when the wife and kids are out of town I will make an attempt.
BTW, are you the test pilot for the Beam that...

3D Blah Blah Blah

I hate to say this but I feel like I have to. No, I am not a troll. Just a long time RCer that needs to get this off my chest.

I started flying RC Heli's when they first came on the market,...

RE: Proctor Antic, all suggestons welcome

Steve,
With the electric setup described above, the Antic flies great!
You will not be disappointed. The plane can handle the extra weight of NiCad batteries although, if you can afford them,...

RE: FunSonic Turbines

Thanks for the info gentlemen. I don't know about you all but, while reading the recent posts all I could hear was this faint music in the background and Rod Serling's voice .... "You're traveling...

RE: FunSonic Turbines

I'm with John.

I'm also seeking some info on the Funsonic Turbine. It seems like a good deal, but I'm afraid to sink $2500 in turbine that does not run. Also, any other suggestions on a...

RE: 4120 vs 4130: Your project experience

Tango,
If weight was not an issue, then the possibilities are endless, however, your choice in batteries is a balance between purchasing the largest capacity LiPo you can while keeping your wing...

RE: AXI-fied Extra 300S E-Conversion!

Well I just put four flights on the Extra. What a great plane! See my previous post regarding my setup. I checked the wattage with a freshly charged LiPo and at full throttle am pulling 580 Watts...

RE: 4120 vs 4130: Your project experience

Tango,
You're welcome!

If your LiPo's are new, don't forget to keep your flights to 4-5 mins. I have been told this is how best to "break them in". You know LiPo's do not develop memory...

RE: 4120 vs 4130: Your project experience

Chris,
Assuming the 4.6 lbs is empty weight, your best bet for all out 3D will be the 4130/16

RE: 4120 vs 4130: Your project experience

Tango,
Allow me to interject. I just finished building a Graupner Extra300. It’s powered with two 6000 mAh Thunder Power LiPo’s. There’s really nothing to get confused about. Yes, you are...

RE: 4120 vs 4130: Your project experience

Here's another suggestion: Don't entirely base your choice around a battery. Consider your plane size, wingspan, wing area, flying weight and importantly the type of flying YOU prefer. Obviously 3D...

RE: 4120 vs 4130: Your project experience

Magna,
Here's something else you should consider.
Since you're attempting to reuse the 18 - 20 3300 mAh cell pack, the AXI 4210/14 is only rated for up to 16 cells which narrows your choice to...

RE: AXI-fied Extra 300S E-Conversion!

I'm just finishing up a Graupner E300 following Greg's conversion suggestions.

AXI 4120/18
14X7 Prop
Jeti 77 Opto
Ultimate BEC
6S3P 6000 mAh Thunder Power LiPo.
I also went with...

RE: Christen Eagle - Building, Alterations and Modifications

I just finished my GP CEII about a month ago, so off to the field I went, charged up and ready to go. I have flown several giant scale planes before. I own a 1/4 scale Sig cub, of course this is a...

Interesting,
I also just built a PICO J3 and happened to use thick CA. I use kicker to speed up the curing and it works great. Yes, goodbye GWS glue...[:'(]... that stuff is awful.

RE: LiPoly wiring best practices

WOW!
Makes perfect sence. If using scenario B would it be OK to charge the 4 cells in series or simply charge each 2cell pack or the entire lot at once?
Thanks a lot.

LiPoly wiring best practices

Hello Li-poly experts,
I have a question. Let's say for argument sake I want a LiPoly pack that's 14.8V with 6000 maH. Now let's say I find a good deal on 8- 2 cell 1500 maH Lipoly cells. Now...

RE: Sig 1/5 J3 Cub Conversion ? What Say You?

Gary,
Interesting to hear about the Proctor factory. I think you'll like the J3 conversion, for one thing it will be in the air a lot quicker. Have you seen how the Proctor kits are built? It...
