Hi, Just dropped in on this discussion. I had exactly the same problem with my DLE 30 with the same symptoms you are describing - the engine would cut or run rough inverted. I went through all the...

RE: Wot 4 UC Ripped off...

It's not crow if you are just using up ailerons. That is spoilerons.

Crow is where ailerons and flaps are separate; ailerons go up, flaps go down causing maximum drag. The wing is fairly stable...

RE: 5 n 1 on my DAG-1 Autogyro

Dave,

Do you have plans for your DAG-R2 autogyro please?

I saw you had some up on *bay, but I was not in time to bid.

If you do have plans and could let me know the costs I could...

RE: Twist 60 crash /Ordered Twist 150!!!

Barry,

One thing wives never learn is that you cannot ever have enough planes. She does have a point though: Why don't you fly them?

One important point to remember with wives is that you...

RE: Twist 60 crash /Ordered Twist 150!!!

Barry,

The OS 120 two stroke is a little lighter and makes a little more power than the four stroke, but I am certain the plane would go well on a Magnum 120 for stroke. You should be able to...

RE: Twist 60 crash /Ordered Twist 150!!!

I have the 150 with an OS 120 ax fitted. Comes out spot on with the balance and no mods to the plane. The engine is quite powerful (on paper as strong as the Saito 180) and it's light - ready to fly...

RE: hanger nine twist 150

The Twist is a good design, Mike. I have the 40 and the 150. I have fitted an OS 120 ax in the 150. It slotted in with no mods and balanced at 6 inches back - no ballast required. All up weight 8lb...

RE: H9 Twist 150, anyone?

Found the scales - weight is 8 pounds 8 ounces, which is very light for engine power approaching 3HP.

The 120 ax, even while running in, has been very consistent with no dead-sticks. That, with...

RE: H9 Twist 150, anyone?

The 110 will do nicely! The weight should come out at less than 9 pounds. I haven't measured mine yet because I can't find my postal scales...

RE: H9 Twist 150, anyone?

Likewise - am using the OS 120 AX. It seems perfect for the 150 - no ballast required and balances on the 6 inches. I'm using Lipos and a regulator, so saving a few ounces there.

It hovers so...

RE: new seagull extra 260 90

Mine is adequate with an ASP 90 powering it. Flies well with power for vertical manouvers. I think the 110 would be ideal as I could do with just a bit more power.

RE: harrier 46

Another point of interest is that HiTech servos move the opposite way from Futaba. So if you mix up the two on elevators you will not need a reverser.

RE: harrier 46

I have not installed the servo reverser yet - I can't be bothered to strip everything down, so the Extra 260 will be getting its first flight this morning (gulp) as it is with pushrods coming off...

I don't think they are; at least, I've wasted my money if they are...

I will be trying one tonight on my Futaba 6 and will report back on how it works

RE: harrier 46

I've tried that and never had much success. The servo wants to go to half throw. There may be a way but it escapes me.

As discussed, this is the best method:

RE: harrier 46

I agree that it's best to use a reverser although until now I've never been able to get one, so I have in the past positioned the rods on either side of the servo output. I kind of agree with esamart...

RE: new seagull extra 260 90

I've had mine finished for a couple of weeks - just waiting for a decent week-end. I have an ASP 90 two stroke in it, but I have just acquired a new Saito 125. I think I'll see how it flies on the 90...

RE: Are you impessed with your Tower engines?

Yes, you are right; he did (har)

And you are right about the Tower 75. They are not too common over here (UK), but I have seen them go and for that sort of performance per $ you can't go wrong.

RE: Seagull - Harrier .46 Anyone had any experience?

Hi,

The 61 will be heavier than most 46s but it will be okay - I have flown one with a JEN 56 and it went well. I have had a Twist also; the Harrier knife edges much better - both do good flat...

RE: Bad night with K&B .65

You need to raise the tank a little. Also, when I convert to a diesel I fit a smaller choke carb, which helps with fuel draw - we do that in the UK and rely less on silencer pressure for fuel supply...

Talking about "rattling": when I first ran the JEN on the test stand and checked the idle, from half throttle down it rattled like the rod was about to break free. It was an alarming noise and it...

RE: JEN 56 Diesel

Andy,

The 33% mix is what PAW recommend for their plain bearing engines and is a good place to start if you are not sure about the engine's fuel requirements. I wanted to keep the ether content...
