RE: Show us your airplane storage meathod-Need ideas

I was very inspired by Harley's set up, so I did something very similar using the suggested Bicycle mounts but with some slightly different hardware.

This is a 3 foot piece of 3/4 particle...

RE: New 56" RazorYak ARF

Hello,

I really wanted the 65" Yak ARF from OMP to go with my OS 1.20, but it's out of stock and will be for a long time. My second choice was the 67" Fusion ARF, but that is also out of stock....

RE: Aeroworks Yak 75cc with DA-85 Mounting Advice

Hi Ward and others,

Thanks for this note. I read the manual as downloaded from the site and didn't see anything specific about a mounting template for the DA-85, so I am really glad to hear this...

Aeroworks Yak 75cc with DA-85 Mounting Advice

Hello everyone,

After many flights, I dumb thumbed my Aeroworks Yak 90-120 QB and ripped the gear out in a severe way and have decided not to re-build. I enjoyed this model in general, but never...

RE: Introducing the new 90-1.20 Yak QB

Thanks Steve,

I did go to Apcprop.com, but I guess I missed it.

I did a search for fun-fly this time and found it.

Not all the props are in the precise order of size, some are out...

RE: Introducing the new 90-1.20 Yak QB

No kidding, right?

Balsabob you are in the same boat as many people who have come to this thread over the last six months (including me) so welcome to the party buddy.

I haven't seen anyone...

RE: Introducing the new 90-1.20 Yak QB

Fromeco 2600 mah 7.2 Li-ion regulated down to 6.0 with Smart-fly regulator. Bought both from Smartfly directly (smart-fly.com).

Happy with this-setup, but it's completely overkill really.

RE: Introducing the new 90-1.20 Yak QB

Who makes at 16x5.5? Not APC, at least not at Tower and they have a ton of props?

RE: Introducing the new 90-1.20 Yak QB

I am pretty sure it's a APC wide 16x8, but I need to double check as I'm not at home right now. I will re-post around 8:00 PST time this evening if it's NOT a 16x8.

I run the Bison Pitts style...

RE: Introducing the new 90-1.20 Yak QB

Hi all-

I have an OS 1.20 in mine, and if you've read any of my posts you know that I don't think this engine is the right engine for 3d. I have zero pull-out from a hover.

It's fine for...

RE: Introducing the new 90-1.20 Yak QB

The prefered receiver is Spektrum 2.4! Just teasing you, but this is pilot preference and best left up to a different thread where they debate recievers. I can't imagine why either wouldn't work.

RE: Introducing the new 90-1.20 Yak QB

I am currently running 15% with a 16x8. I've tried a 16x4w, but not a 17x4w.

Mine has just enough power to hover, but not really enough power to get out of it. You have to flop it over and fly...

RE: Introducing the new 90-1.20 Yak QB

I had my first mishap today.

I guess the landing was too hard although it didn't seem like it ... in fact it seemed like every other landing I've hand.

One of the "ribs" on the bottom of...

RE: Introducing the new 90-1.20 Yak QB

Any ideas where I can pick up some replacement hardware?

I lost a cowl screw. While the local hardware store had some hardware this small, they didn't have the nice rubber washers. I tried to...

RE: DA-50 - understanding the Throttle

Heh. I'm sure now thanks to the helpful people on this forum. But, of course, I have tie-downs I'd use anyhow if doing it alone.

Again, the whole point of the thread was to make sure I didn't...

RE: DA-50 - understanding the Throttle

We don't have gas lawn mowers where I live (So cal, no grass!)

But, all kidding aside, a rear-facing carb that's not that easy to see even with a mirror and pinlight, combined with zero gas...

RE: DA-50 - understanding the Throttle

Yeah, it ran great actually. I flew with it three times with no problems. No hesitation or anything that I could tell. Starts great. Runs great. But, I do appreciate the inputs here.

I'll do...

RE: DA-50 - understanding the Throttle

I can't see inside the carb because of the firewall. These pics are opposite the arm. Do you think I am fully open or fully closed in the second picture?

Truckracer,

Thank you for your reply. I know it must sound like I am insane, but the unit seems completely sealed to me. I don't see an air-intake. Here are some pictures. It must be right in...

DA-50 - understanding the Throttle

Hello all-

Please pardon the very newbie question. I am coming over from Nitro engines into my first gas engine, a DA-50-R.

It's used, but I've flown the plane with this engine and it...

Yikes. Time to check that fuel tubing over the clevis trick and be sure it's still in the right place. Sorry to hear it; glad it wasn't a complete disaster. Please share with us your replacement...

RE: Introducing the new 90-1.20 Yak QB

Mike - let us know when you post that review. I'll be glad to see someone call out Aeroworks on the tail-heavy thing. Mark seems to be ignoring this thread for the most part.

Fortunately the...

RE: Introducing the new 90-1.20 Yak QB

It was only a few minutes. I gave it back to him of my own accord after checking the performance and a few touch-and-go's ... but nothing terribly fancy. I may buy it from him. I'd do the 100cc thing...
