Buy a cheap fishing pole from a local tackle shop.
You can buy a 9 metre one for £ 22-00 They do them up to 18 metres but they will be expensive
Then fit a hook made with a coat hanger in the end...

Thanks for that- I will try it at the weekend. Although no one seems to know how the spring is supposed to work. Seems pointless to put one in the kit !!!

fasten the wire each end rigidly. Then with a long arm on a servo it can be pushed back & forth along the wire...
