Agreed, Silversurfer. But the balsa box also had no effect. I like your idea of the plastic cap over the hole and am willing to try it. I've tried everything else anyway.

Thanks for the comments 3dsky. I think you're right about the "pros" jockeying the throttle quite a bit, never leaving it at idle for very long. Weather here (St. Louis) has been too cold to fly...
