RE: Help - Water ingress and motor seizure

Thanks, I will try my best to do that when I next get a chance to work on it, and report back. I will also try to take a pic or two of the situation.

Gee, the forum seems a lot quieter than when...

RE: Help - Water ingress and motor seizure

Thanks, trouble is with my biggish hands I can't even get to the motor properly to spray the WD-40 where I want it to go - I have applied it liberally to the motor shaft / outdrive but still no joy....

I have an Aquacraft Bristol Bay that has always had issues taking on water which I have tried to stop with grease etc. but over winter storage the inevitable seems to have happened and the motor is...

RE: No Go! Help

I bought a HPI Firebolt 15t for my budget short course build for the princely sum of £6.37, less than ten bucks US.

Great budget motor with a smooth throttle curve and decent top-end. Haven't...

RE: Lipo charger staying red?

Really do want to +1 to what nitrosportsandrunner said there and grab yourself one of the AC6 type chargers. I have two running off a converted computer PSU and they are excellent, but the newer ones...

RE: Lipo charger staying red?

If it's charging at 800mA as you say, it would take about 7 hours to fully charge the pack if it were near empty.

It is quite common that one "half" of the pack runs down more than the other,...

RE: is RC dead?

As a general rule, whenever I take my r/c's anywhere where there's a lot of folks around, e.g. to the beaches when there's a public holiday on, or wherever, they generate a lot of interest. I had my...

I do love Tamiya but boy do you ever pay a premium for comparable performance. For me it just doesn't look exciting enough vs. TXT-1, nor would it drive...

RE: is RC dead?

I've drifted on and off the r/c forums over the years, really it depends on what else is going on.

No doubt it's much quieter than when I joined. I think a bit more could be done to get the...

RE: Help with incorrectly glued tires

And if it's a Rustler VXL, boy will you notice it at higher speeds. A tyre out of true can even cause that corner to be off the ground most of the time at high speed, which just ruins the...

RE: Lunchboxer's TXT-1 project...

TXT-2 has me in all the sorts of quandaries I went through ten years ago with the TXT-1!

Back then I had to choose between an E-Maxx and the TXT as my first major r/c purchase and I'm not sorry...

RE: Help with incorrectly glued tires

If it's just made a bit of a mess by streaking down the tyre, should be ok, won't affect handling etc. too much. The key thing is where the bead meets the rim. If you have a big blob of glue pushing...

Looking at your sig you've already got some impressive 4s and 6s machinery... has your father-in-law driven these?

These are two very different vehicles, as you know. The Rival is a big basher...

RE: What $250-$300 buggy should I get?

I'm not going to recommend a particular model, just point out some things to keep in mind while you're looking;

1/8th scale clears a lot more ground than 1/10th and is generally more "go...

RE: best bang for the buck offroad vehicle

x2 really does depend on the kind of off-roading you want to do.

RE: RC getting stuck in grass

This is just a thought - are the tyres glued to the wheels properly?

This is a 1/14th scale Rastar Land Rover Discovery 3 shell sitting on top of my very modified TLT-1 crawler.

The shell was removed from its toy chassis visible in the third pic. I think these...

RE: Cheap 4WD off Roader for bashing?

I still have my 3906! Though it is mostly limited to towing duties now (tows my x-crawler on a scale trailer) :-)

It's tough as nails though and it'll go anywhere, k the handling is a bit...
