RE: Phoenix Models Fun Star 40-3D

Hmmm......sounds lean, but you said richening it up a few clicks didn't help.......my next guess would be a fuel delivery problem.....

RE: Phoenix Models Fun Star 40-3D

I think mine was right in the middle of the recommended range.....for initial flights, I wouldn't go back any further than that........my would snap a bit with full up elevator...which I didn't...

RE: Phoenix Models Fun Star 40-3D

If I remember correctly, I used the recommended throws for initial flights, then cranked up the throws for 3D. Expo is more to personal taste....I think I ran about 35% on the ailerons, 30% on the...

RE: towers trainer..

Wrinkled ARFs are not uncommon......the plane takes a lot of changes in humidity and temperature during it's life in the box between the manufacturer, distributors, shipping companies, and retailer.

RE: WM T-34 questions/ updates

cruz, I replaced mine with 2 1/2" for flying off grass....and also our paved runway has some killer cracks in it. Definitely doesn't hurt to go bigger. I usually pay a little extra for the super...

RE: towers trainer..

Just to clarify, a slightly nose down condition on the CG machine for a trainer is fine.......although yours definitely looks slightly nose heavy.

RE: WM T-34 questions/ updates

In addition to what Joe said, I like to use a pushrod or music wire and insert it into my fuel tubes, then bend them....that way, the pushrod or music wire will keep the tube from crimping when you...

RE: towers trainer..

It is possible that the CG is spot on.....trainers are often blanced perfectly with no weight....but Tom is correct, for an accurate CG reading, get the Great Planes CG Machine....it's a great...

RE: towers trainer..

Looks good Kenny! [8D] Just as a note for future reference, you can glue a T-Pin to the top of your rudder, and attach a rubber band to it, then attach the rubber band to your antenna......at least...

RE: WM T-34 questions/ updates

My elevator pushrod comes out on the underside of the horizontal stab....and the rudder pushrod is on the opposite side of the plane, above the stab. I would route the pushrods that way, hook them...

RE: WM T-34 questions/ updates

Phat,
I used the stock setup.....can't remember if I crossed the pushrods in the fuse on this plane, but I know I have on others with the same type of setup. I would highly recommend using...

RE: World Models Cap232-46R

airborneSGT, are you stationed at Ft. Bragg? I might be heading down there on Dec. 16th for a ceremony for my brother-in-law that is down there. He is becoming a General.

RE: taking off advice

I read this paragraph a couple of times and couldn't agree more with it. This is an EXCELLENT assesment of flying, and what new pilots should strive for.

RE: Need help with Evolution .61 tuning...

I saw quite a few Evolution .46's run like clocks, so I didn't hesitate to buy an Evolution 1.00 NX to power my Vectorflight Edge 540.......since March, I've been battling with this engine, and I'm...

RE: Need Some Prop Advice

garcay, I think you mean less pitch to get more pull & less speed. Less pitch as in "5" compared to "7".

I have the same plane with an OS .46FX. I originally had a 10x6 prop on it.....came...

RE: help me decided my next plane

I agree about the 4-stroke........a .70 might just barely fly it.......definitely need a .90, and yes, a .70 will fit in the 4*40 if you decide to go with that.

RE: WM T-34 questions/ updates

Jacko, I'm not sure how the GP42 will do on a grass strip with that plane.........I think a lot depends on how high & thick the grass is.....

Trike gear planes aren't too bad on...
