What is the current radio tech?

Been out of RC for a while and looking to get back in. I have a Futaba 7c 72mhz radio that I gather isn't really in use anymore. Does anyone still fly with 72mhz?

Got a Bladerunner Stormwolf Heli for Christmas. This is probably a 40-50 dollar chopper, but seems to be fun. The battery only lasts about 5 minutes.
