RE: Flew Great Planes Stuka

Sorry to hear they've not brought them back yet. I've been flying mine a lot lately...so much it's ready for a re-model.
I think next I'll build the Ziroli Stuka but I might practice glassing this...

RE: Flew Great Planes Stuka

The ST I have is an Italian model but still doesn't like to be in a cowl or something. The 91 runs great and it flies it between .5 and .75 throttle and it had only a half gallon through it when I...

RE: Flew Great Planes Stuka

Ok, bench testing the ST didn't work. I had about 6 dead sticks in a row an only got about 15 minutes of flying on 6 flights! I got a Saito 91 and it's perfect. You are correct it is really hard...

RE: Flew Great Planes Stuka

Palidin, I'll run that ST on the bench first to see how reliable it is (bought it used recently). I may use it for now and opt for the Saito later (save $200-$300)

RE: Flew Great Planes Stuka

...that was easy, they are sending a new cowl. I wasn't going to bother but the crack goes into the fiberglass, distorted it, so I kind of wanted a new one...I just reallized this is my first new...

RE: Flew Great Planes Stuka

Wow, that looks good. I think I'll hold out for the Saito. I measured the 120 this morning and it's 157 mm long and 105 mm tall but the opening is 140 mm X 140 mm so unless I remounted the firewall...

RE: Flew Great Planes Stuka

That's a good question. Paladin, what muffler did you use. I have a Top Flite muffler with mine but I don't need it. I was hoping it would fit but NOPE!

RE: Flew Great Planes Stuka

I just checked and the ST 90 is about 5mm too long so I'll move the cowl out or find a mount that allows it to fit closer to the firewall. I might also see if I can find a OS 91 FS or similar. ...

RE: Flew Great Planes Stuka

Paladin, did you mount the engine horizontal. I don't want to cut the cowl but I'm not sure I want it upside down either because of fuel leaking.

RE: Flew Great Planes Stuka

I just got a GP Stuka and I need some advise. I have two engines that could go in this. I know both are MORE than adequate but I like the 4s. I have a Saito 120 and a ST 90 with a pitts muffler. ...
