RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 build

Guys. I've become more interested in flying than building, and specifically flying 3D. Also, my original intent when I got this plane was to use it to re-learn how to fly after a several year...

RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 build

Finally started painting mine.

I ended up putting the paint on pretty thick, and it has a bit of texture to it. I'm pretty sure I just need to reduce the paint more to get a better finish. I...

Slow roll aileron rate

Hi all. Those of you that can do the sweet horizon to horizon slow rolls, are you using a low aileron rate and pushing the stick all the way to the stop, or are you skilled enough to maintain...

RE: Your biggest

I'm sure everyone already knows this one:

For belly-in knife edge; push the rudder in the direction of flight. Was definitely an ah-ha! moment for me.

RE: Looking for info!!!

A less expensive alternative would be the Andrew Jesky Osiris releasing later this year from 3DHS. Although it is an ARF and not a kit though. And electric instead of gas. Looks like it flys ok...

RE: 3D Hobby Shop Osiris

I've hear rumors of a 2M version as well. Actually, I don't think you could call it a rumor as the owner of 3DHS is the one who said it. :-) I think it's safe to say I know what I'll be spending...

RE: suggestion for best 3D plane that fits in a compact 2 seater car

I've got one of these and I love it:

Mines the fixed wing version but it is available w/ removable wings. I can fit mine in the back of a jeep...

RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 build

Yes, I fly at RCRC. It's a pretty decent club and not far from where I live.

RC Hobbies is the best! I love that store. His prices are very competitive with anything you can find online, and...

RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 build

I refuse to be "the guy" who doesn't finish what he started. It might take me another 3 yrs, but I will finish.

That said, here's what I've decided to do about my control surfaces:

RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 build

Another update: My wing and fuse are basically ready for paint. Working on control surfaces etc. now.

I wish I had weights for individual parts but I don't have a good scale to check them...

RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 build

Just an update on my progress.

I got some 1000 grit sandpaper and hit the top of the wing again. It is now smooth as a baby's but. The fuse and bottom of the wing require a little more sanding...

RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 build

RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 build

Ok, I actually have a question. Remember the pic below? This is the top of my wing. See the hazy spot? Do I fix that with more putty or a finer grit paper???? I don't think my glazing putty is...

RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 build

Hi all. I actually found myself working on the o'l 182 this weekend. The wing is more or less ready for paint, and I have applied and wet-sanded back the first round of glazing putty to the...

RE: Sukhoi Su-26M BNF by ParkZone
