RE: Need HELP! choosing a TX/RX radio

$250?? I'm pretty sure you can find it for less then $170 (that's what I paid at my LHS). That's without servos that is.

RE: kit,arf,rtf??

You are correct credence but in a case where you have a beginner pilot (with no previous experience) it might be much easier (and cheaper) to get a RTF heli such as Blade CP (or one of the FP helis)...

RE: dragonflyer ? IV to V

Just get yourself some comfortable walking shoes because this hobby is not for someone with no patience... Dragonflyer is an expensive "toy" (and possibly dangerous) so you'd be better off spending...

RE: Lithium Chargers

Once again I'm going of my memory but I believe most chargers can handle from ~11V to ~18V (or was it 15V..) so you might have had a power surge that burnt up your equipment

RE: Blade CP Li-po Upgrade Problem

With a 2 cell setup you will be ok without a lipo alarm since the heli will not have enough power to lift off but with a 3 cell batteries a lipo alarm is crucial! Just because your post flight...

RE: TREX options

Actually the Trex parts are pretty much the cheapest out of all of the helis available now however you have more parts to break vs a simple FP heli. And blades will run you $10.49 (wooden), $12.99...

Are you using the stock radio? Your EPAs (End Point Adjustments) on the servos might be off

Where is it $150?

I don't remember where I got it but they were on sale for $150 + shipping (TX only, no servos)

RE: Converting older Lite Machines Model 110

Hmm... tha tail is crazy! How heavy is this thing? If it's <300g pretty much any battery will work but as you go heavier you might want to opt for a bigger batts and motor (stock Trex is ~600g for...

RE: Trex transmitter requirements

I'd recommend the Eclipse 7... I'm very satisfied with it. Originally I purchased the Optic 6 but that was defective so had it replaced with Eclipse. For ~$150 with spectra module you can't beat...

RE: Lithium Chargers

pkh... u're correct. Meant to say Amp not C (must have had a brain fart) .. I've been charging my ~2000Mah packs at 2A (1C) but with the LiIon packs I have the recommended charge rate is 1A (0.5C)

RE: Converting older Lite Machines Model 110

Not really familiar with this heli but make sure your batteries can handle the discharge rates (6A is no problem but higher you go the bigger battery you need). Thunder Power 2nd gen high-discharge...

RE: T-Rex 450 - Post your setup here and comments

HS55 will do just fine on the tail.. I've seen people use HS56s as well. Advantages? Cheaper, more sturdy.. Disadvantages? Slower piro rate (which is still more then you'll ever need) unless u're...

RE: Lithium Chargers

The only difference (I believe) in charging Li-ions and Li-Pos is that you have to charge ions at 1C max whereas with lipos you can go up to 2Cs. This is setup related... as a matter of fact, Triton...

RE: Lithium Chargers

Li-Polys are pretty much newer version of Li-ions (there are chemical differences which I don't know much about). Li-polys are "more safer" then ions and can handle higher discharge rates (batt pack...

RE: Lithium Chargers

I can't speak for everyone but from my own experience if you get a quality charger and make sure you set it up correctly you should have no problems with batteries blowing up. Personally I'm using a...

RE: which heli should i get?

Read the forums and see some of the reviews/gripes and then make your choice. Depending on your wallet Blade CP or Trex/Shogun would be my recommendations.

RE: Can I do this safely?

I'm not sure it will work... I'd be carefull at what voltage/amperage your charger is set to (I believe they charge at higher currents). Easier way is to use an old computer power supply (I bought a...

RE: Getting the Smartech Aerohawk off the ground

What kind of training gear are you using? The weight is most likely your problem. Bending blades will give you more lift so try that.

RE: The big BANG Honey Bee FP

Use rubber bands to attach the training gear to your skids.
The problem with flying in small spaces (such as your garage) is that the air is turbulant within seconds of you starting your heli......

RE: How much $$ for lipos

The only drawback of the Maxamps battery is that it's quite wide (i.e. it will not fit inside the frame... unless you have it sideways). I have both, the TP and MA and don't really have a...
