I never mounted a Sullivan tank in a Nitro Hammer but they fit great in a CEN Racing Grey Thunder. It'd have to be what you can find out what will fit best in there. The SS (Square Slant) tanks seem...

RE: Unofficial Nitro Hammer Thread

I haven't worked on a NH since they first came out so I'm digging through the fog in my head.
There's a ton of reading but there is a Nitro Hammer thread somewhere in here, use hte search at the...

RE: Unofficial Nitro Hammer Thread

There isn't a lot of room under the hull so the prop choices are limited. I think that the biggest prop we could put on was a 37mm so an Octura X-437 or X-637 would be it with a shim between the prop...

RE: Unofficial Nitro Hammer Thread

It's lean on the high-speed needle so richen that one up..
Yes, the lid has been a reported problem on this boat. Some have made a gasket and placed in there or used something like a rubber band to...

RE: Unofficial Nitro Hammer Thread

It may fit an OS as they come from the same factory but the holes may have to be redrilled.

RE: Unofficial Nitro Hammer Thread

I would take the Go engines numbers with a grain of salt. Their HP and RPM numbers are kind of on the high side for any engine this size and the OS and Aqauacraft I feel are close or on the...

RE: Unofficial Nitro Hammer Thread

Kevin, start by bypassing the receiver switch as most times that'll be the culprit. Just plug the battery pack right into the receiver
Look elsewhere for a pull-starter if Aquacraft doesn't have...

RE: Unofficial Nitro Hammer Thread

The biggest one that will fit under the hull if you're still using the sub-surface drive. If you can only shoehorn a 35mm under there go with something like a 535.

RE: Unofficial Nitro Hammer Thread

You shouldn't need it. In my boats I had to cut off some heat sinks to get the engines to build up heat as they were running too cool.
Consider that they're made to go under a Lexan body with a...

RE: Unofficial Nitro Hammer Thread

The Aquacraft .18 ought to be just about a bolt-in. What you'd probably run into is that the engine can take a lot of prop, more than what can fit under the hull.
I've built several boats using .12...

The spoiler might make the front light at speed or the tail heavy, whichever way that you want to look at it.

RE: Unofficial Nitro Hammer Thread

Dear Noob......err, Dave. :D Don't sweat being new to boats as we all were at one time.
Probably what your problem is that the larger props won't fit the shaft as Octura props over 35mm have a...

RE: Unofficial Nitro Hammer Thread

Tower Hobbies should have the decals in stock or try your Aquacraft distributor in Oz for them.

RE: Unofficial Nitro Hammer Thread

Try the Octura X-432 or X-435 on it. The only things that you'll have to do is to sharpen and balance it/them which isn't too hard with small props.

RE: Unofficial Nitro Hammer Thread

You might be tightening the prop nut too far. Take a sliver of fuel line (about 1/8" thick) and put it between the prop and prop nut. That will keep you from putting too much pressure on it and it'll...

RE: Unofficial Nitro Hammer Thread

It seems like that hull is a polyester lay-up but I'm not sure.
Now go ditch that stand and make one out of PVC pipe to set it on. The problem is that the hull is bouncing when pull-starting the...

RE: Unofficial Nitro Hammer Thread

If you want to go back about 20-something pages, you might find something from a person who did try a surface drive on his NH.

RE: [Deleted]

Sure, it would be fine for you then.
Keep in mind that you have to run a richer needle than what you're used to.

RE: [Deleted]

Fuels made for boats are preferred, you want an oil content of 18-20%.

RE: Offical Nitro Hammer Thread

This is what I use, the 4 oz. spray bottle. You only need a few squirts in the bottom of a servo or around a reciever. This bottle has lasted me a long time and I've done a lot of boats with it.

RE: Offical Nitro Hammer Thread

WW, I use Aeroplate made by Aerotrend Products to waterproof my servos. I've had my radio box full of water, poured it out and kept running! It's even brought a reciever back from the dead. You can...

RE: Offical Nitro Hammer Thread

I run 50% nitro through my O.S. .12! It's higher than recommended but they can take 40% with no problem.

RE: Offical Nitro Hammer Thread

What I've been using is a tuned cpipe from Traxxas. It's tight to the engine and has a slight upturn that really helps to get it to clear radio boxes.
Here is the one that I use:...

RE: Offical Nitro Hammer Thread

I use these pipes a lot on my little boats, I have 3 of them. Where the problem lies with installing them in the NH's is that you have to get the pipe length right otherwise it's pretty much only a...
