RE: More 110 Problems

Oh... I wish I had thought about the "BUY A NEW ENGINE" solution first. Why didn't I think of that sooner? Pretty sure the regulator screw is okay from factory. Pay attention to transition and you...

RE: More 110 Problems

Not being a pest... but hopefully Troy Newman will chime in here and verify what I am about to suggest.

It's not right that you can turn the regulator screw a full turn and make no difference....

RE: More 110 Problems

I'm just using the standard Cool Power Heli 30%. Nothing special. But the heli fuel has the higher oil content and most engines like nitro!

RE: More 110 Problems

Sounds like you are on your way. In the end an 1800rpm idle should be easily attainable. Remember the low end is an air bleed so screwing it in will richen it up. And I have talked with YS about the...

RE: More 110 Problems

BTW- Switching fuels from 20/20 to 30% and you will have to retune!

RE: More 110 Problems

I concurr with everything Zeeb said. To start you definately have to rotate the prop to the back compression. But once the low end is set there will be no need to adjust it. In fact once everything...

RE: More 110 Problems

A few things to address here:

1- It is going to take you about 1 gal of fuel before you get this engine broken in and able to turn the screws and get everything to settle in just right. So try...

RE: Ultra R/C Giles 202 UL 29%

Does MVVS or Evolution for that matter even recommend synthetic at such a high ratio at all? I thought 40:1 after break in was it! I mean I am all for synthetic oils and I personally feel Amzoil is...

RE: Ultra R/C Giles 202 UL 29%

No problems I've seen breaking it in. However I did run it for about 20 min on the ground before I took to the air. I typically don't like really tweaking an engine til it has been broken in as you...

RE: Ultra R/C Giles 202 UL 29%

Great idea and a simple solution. I had a friend that had a tab failure recently. I need to really look at it to verify this was not pilot error, but I have owned a few planes with the simple screw...

*** Maiden Flight ***

I have now built 4 of these models. One for myself and 3 for friends and today with the maiden flight I was most impressed. I had a OS 1.60 on mine originally and now OS no...

RE: Tune pipes

I too have the exact set-up as "stomper" and I have had the opportunity to fly a couple DA-50s running regular mufflers. Tuned pipe is the way to go for me. It is more power overall and the throttle...

RE: Hi power F90 hinge warning

I too replaced the hinges on my Funtana 90 a couple times on a few surfaces. This was also one of the first planes that I ever built. Since then someone put me onto flexible thin CA and all the...

RE: 8611A.......5955

The debate lives again... go check out what the folks at Troy Built models are doing. It seems they are running straight LiIon batteries with no regulators on the HITEC servos. Monster torque and...

RE: 8611A.......5955

I have to make a correction here.. it was actually Lyndel Roe that had the Hitec's at the nats that I talked to and not Adam Bry. Sorry Lyndel but I am glad you chimed in here... our conversation at...

RE: 8611A.......5955

My head seriously hurts... this has been way more information than I ever bargained for reading any thread. But the more indepth we get the further we get from the subject at hand. And I am even more...

RE: 8611A.......5955

Well I have read through the entire thread and now I am back on the fence. You people suck! Seriously... I am using the 5955s in an EF 87" Yak and they are great and are complete overkill. But I...

RE: QQ 102" Yak - Discussion and Build thread

To those using the 3W 106 competition or QQ models... what cans and headers are you using and do you have model numbers. I am sure it is buried somewhere in this whole thread, but I ask to show a...

RE: Best Crash Video?

I originally posted this on the 3D area but I want to see the memory of this plane live on as it died over there. I don't know if this qualifies as I did this on purpose. Still fun though.

RE: Ultra R/C Giles 202 UL 29%

The build was finished in 3 days! My friend comes tomorrow for the plane. It should be a blast with the YS engine in there. Came in at 10lbs 9 oz with a Hitori muffler and pipe as well as a 4 cell...

RE: QQ 102" Yak - Discussion and Build thread

They also have 3 different versions of the 106 now... regular, TOC, and competition. Any word on that?

RE: QQ 102" Yak - Discussion and Build thread

I finally figured out to stick a DA or 3w in mine. Anyone hear about 3W ignition issues though? If there are serious problems tat would probably seal the deal.

RE: Ultra R/C Giles 202 UL 29%

RE: Ultra R/C Giles 202 UL 29%

Mikeoxbent... use the stock gear and don't overdo it with the glue for the CF sleeve. That is if you can land... I have been flying mine a bit and have had absolutely no issues with the gear. But...

RE: VIDEO of how to mess up your funtana!!

We have a guy at our field that flies like this with a trainer but worse... he always starts the plane with full throttle. For all take offs he brings the plane to the middle of the runway and holds...
