No, the KLG plug didn't have a replaceable coil but if a coil broke we'd stick the head of a pin inside to overlap two coils and get electrical contact again so we could have another flight.....then...

Here's a KLG plug which used to come in a packet very similar to the Champion plug. These were almost standard issue in Australia back in the 50's because it was about the only plug available to us....
