RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

You can save a bunch of extensions and connections if you put a receiver in each boom....like flying 2 airplanes in very close formation...

I just re-read the magazine article..- MAN Feb 2001 - no mention of what material the spars are made out of...in fact the spars are hardly mentioned at all....
Considering the wing supports...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

The easiest and simplest way to keep the pull pull lines out of the way as the gear retracts is to use rubber bands to pull them away from the moving parts.. I have tried other methods, but the...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

Any plane will yaw to the left due to mysterious and highly debatable forces such as torque, spiral slipstream, and P factor....that is a given - we know it happens........

On a twin engine...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

oooooo...you may want to re-think that...

that is not a lot of power for a plane that size, and secondly, you need the weight in front of the cg anyways...with the lighter engines you would need...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

Hmm ............interesting..No problems with short takeoffs with or without flaps (but flaps certainly did make a difference) Takeoff roll was never an issue...BUT, I just remembered that my Dad...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

If you did indeed use 16-6 props, that could explain the long take off run...that is way too steep for a 91 ( it is actually a 120 sized prop). Try a 14- 6 and you'll get the power your engines were...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

I built a C/L bronco from plans from one of the model mags back in the 60's ..actually before the prototype flew, because the model plans were drawn up with the original short wing. Never did fly it,...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

This low res pic shows our bronco in a typical landing...it pretty easy to set down at a slow speed, nose up with or without flaps. With flaps, a bit of power helped it touch down incredibly slow..it...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

dmyers0403, I noticed that you used the same hinges on your ailerons as well. Normal practice is to hinge the ailerons either at the mid point, or above the wing (opposite to the flaps). this builds...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

It is much simpler to use two separate receivers on the same frequency - one in each boom....each controls the functions on its side of the aircraft... It is far simpler, and eliminates the maze of...
