RE: My First Foamy!!! Tribute/Hacker E3-37 Combo - No power - Help!!!

Thanks, exeter. I was fairly certain that was the case, because it would have been much harder to screw up the color-coded batt-esc wiring. Whelp...its tugging at the reins like a wild stallion...

RE: My First Foamy!!! Tribute/Hacker E3-37 BL Motor Combo

Okay, prop has been corrected, but still spinning wrong way. It looks like the polarity was right the first time, but the reversed prop (and hopefully the wiring since I resoldered everything)...

RE: My First Foamy!!! Tribute/Hacker E3-37 BL Motor Combo

RE: My First Foamy!!! Tribute/Hacker E3-37 BL Motor Combo

Okay, I replaced the shoddy speaker wire w/ some 12 gauge and cut down the jst wire to a bare minumum before connecting it to the batter leads on the ESC. Hooked everything back up and man, does she...

RE: My First Foamy!!! Tribute/Hacker E3-37 BL Motor Combo

I just took the plane out for the second time today (the first time was way too windy, so I sat it back down very quickly).

Anyways, it flys like a slug. What did I do wrong? There is barely...

RE: Why was my post deleated????

Looks like one of those unplanned tests of your DR plan! Don't you just hate sys administration sometimes?

My First Foamy!!! Tribute/Hacker E3-37 Combo - No power - Help!!!

I finally got through assembling my E-Flite Tribute and thought I'd post a few pics. I can't wait to take it up! This is only the 2nd ARF I've built and I learned a lot from this one. I will also...

RE: Brushless motors.. i dont get it

I suppose "they" could and, in fact, already do if "they" are the model/battery/ESC manufacturers or suppliers. The problem is that without an understanding of the electronics, you end up buying...

RE: NEED HELP!!! Scratch-building a V-22 Osprey

Thanks, Larry. Looking at the diagram, I'm guessing that I may have completely misunderstood the guy. He was probably referring to differential cyclic the whole time and his hand motions that I...

RE: NEED HELP!!! Scratch-building a V-22 Osprey

I got the information from pure hearsay. I work for a subsidiary of Bell (in a department unrelated to production of helicopters - my expertise lies elsewhere, obviously :) ), and we had a visitor...

RE: NEED HELP!!! Scratch-building a V-22 Osprey

I skimmed through this thread, and didn't notice any mention of an interesting fact about the Osprey - it's method of yaw control. The Osprey actually moves the nacelles in opposite directions to...

RE: Spread Spectrum

I just came across an article in this months "Model Aviation" (December 2005 - page 9) about the DX6 written by the AMA Frequency Committee. The final paragraph reads:

It seems to me that...

RE: AMA Video

I know I'm beating a dead horse, but I just opened the letter asking for me to send the DVD back and I put this in another thread:

RE: AMA ultimate model aeronatics DVD!

[:@][:@][:@]

This DVD collection is the most horribly deceptive form of marketing I have ever seen in my whole life. They send this unsolicted package containing the DVD to AMA members and...

RE: PC Power Supply for AC/DC converter?

It's funny you guys would mention those - I was on the way to the hardware store to buy some grommets and machine screws to setup my PC power supply and ended up stopping by Big Lots. They had a...

RE: PC Power Supply for AC/DC converter?

Sweet...well - I'll search for that thread. In the mean time, do you know which leads I need to use for 12V? I know some are 5V and 3.3V.

-edit- Nevermind. It looks like I was beating a dead...

PC Power Supply for AC/DC converter?

I just bought a triton charger and would like to use it indoors, but I don't want to spend a fortune on a AC/DC converter. $90 seems ridiculous to me. Would it not be possible to just use one of...

RE: Parkzone Typhoon 3D RTF

I can't wait for this thing to come out. I've been looking at building my own 3d foamy, but I couldn't come anywhere near that price even w/o the Rx. Maybe I don't know where to look. As far as...

RE: My new Stryker F-27!!!

I just got back from flying. Well, I was asked to stop flying at the park where I usually fly. I then decided to drive to check out a local RC club that I was thinking about joining, but the fence...

RE: F-27 Stryker

Yeah, I've found that the adhesive holding the hatch on is not all that great. My hatch has done this several times - usually after flying inverted for a little while. Now I just tape the crap out...

RE: My new Stryker F-27!!!

Kai,

Sorry to take so long to reply. I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean by "tweaked up", but the ailerons on my plane are pretty much flush to the top edge of the wing. You should...

RE: My new Stryker F-27!!!

I took the stryker out to play in the wind today. Just to guess, I would say there were 10-15 mph gusts. I was able to point the nose into the wind, cut the power and just float the breeze. I...

RE: First F27 Stryker Flights!

Has anyone ever tried the 7.2V battery? If 9.6V = higher performance, shorter flight times, does that mean that the 7.2V should discharge slower w/ more mellow flights. Also, shouldn't you be able...

RE: My new Stryker F-27!!!

Good footage! I'm still trying to work myself up to switching to the 'B' flight mode and then adjusting my linkage for more range of motion on the ailerons, but I'm able to do most all the manuevers...
