Hi Jim, this is a bit older post as the F-18 had been flying for about 3 months know... I did had to add some lead to the nose, even though I had my batteries just in front of the nose servo.

Use factory setting and you will be ok. For CG I used 140mm from the leading edge and the jets flys very stable in that point.

Yes flaps will help you out in getting a smooth takeoff, if you have a long runway let it get some speed and it will rotate very nicelly.

Is your new F-18 a Skymaster ARF?
