RE: Hitec servos and Spektrum

Jim, i had that problem, but only on certain channels, in a futaba receiver. It turned out to be the signal voltage on some channels is lower than required for the 7955 servos. Newer servos can...

RE: Ultimate 50 with DLE 55 muffler

I don't think power will be an issue for you. I fly this plane with a DLE 50 and pitts muffler and it has plenty of power

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build

I agree with erieqc, 2 gals of fuel before synthetic is the way I've done it for the past several years on my gas engines. I use non-synthetic for those 2 gals and then switch to Amsoil 100:1...

RE: First Gas Plane Questions 30cc ?

I would agree with Tarheelflyer, bigger is better in R/C planes too. I think the 50cc size would be a better place to start. If cost is an issue, you might be able to find a good used DL 50 online....

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build

Bemeson - some newer receievers have too low of signal voltage on certain channels to run the switch. Try plugging the receiver lead into a different channel, maybe channel 5 might make it work.

RE: Introducing the new 100cc Edge 540!

Your R921 should have no problem with the hi tork servos.

RE: E-clip size for tail wheel on Aeroworks 50cc YAK54

The clip size is the same as the axle outer diameter. I found some at my local hardware store (I thought it was 3/32"?) but I lost 3 for every one that I managed to get into the slot. I've had lots...

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build

Bemeson, I always seal the hinge gaps on my planes no matter how small the gap. I've read lots of articles that suggest this be done. The way I do it is first tape the control surface down at full...

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build

Bigjer - I have been running Amsoil Saber at 80:1 in my gassers for a couple of years now. No problems. I started using the amsoil after some internet research that showed very little internal...

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build

bigjer - Nice setup. One comment is that you may want to extend your vent line so that the top of the loop extends past the end of the tank. This will assure no fuel leaks out in a downline.

RE: Need advice - receiver battery size

I worry about the receiver getting more than 6 volts. Some of the newer receivers can do fine with over 6, but I have a buddy who lost a receiver continually using 6 volt nimh's with a fresh charge....

RE: Need advice - receiver battery size

I use about 200 -300 mah per flight depending on the number and type of servos. I'd say 250 for your setup. Determiine your safety factor (mine is 2) and multiply by the number of flights you want to...

RE: Canister tunnels in AW kits-seal off from cabin area?

I have always sealed off the tunnel to help keep the heat out of the radio area. I recommend that you do so.

RE: Yak 120 canopy cracked in flight?

I had a crack (came out of the box that way) in my 50cc yak canopy. I taped across the crack with clear packing tape and it's been fine since, hasn't gotten any larger.

RE: 50cc Ultimate- What should it weigh?

Mine weighs 18#-6oz. DL 50, no smoke, no choke servo, dual 2400 mah batts, 23x8 mezjlik CF prop and alum spinner. If you don't use it, lose it, I always say....

They do need to come in with...

RE: 50cc Ultimate

Steve, I have a DL 50 on mine and it will go vertical forever. I'm curious, how much does yours weigh? Mine came in at 18#-6oz. I'm using a 23x8 Mejzlik prop

RE: Aeroworks Yak54 50cc build issues

FS - I would encourage you to go with the factory settings for low, high and 3D rates and increase your expo before you start adding weight. If you add more weight, the plane will stall at higher...

RE: Aeroworks Yak54 50cc build issues

FS - I mounted my switches up front by the cowl. I have used this location on every gasser I have and I have not experienced any RF problems, even before I switched to 2.4 in my planes. I also do...
