that's what I'm hoping with the version I got. It's also a ccd camera and I looked but I can't find anything where it talks about an auto off feature. It records at 30fps.

I just got a Mustek MDC 4000, which is the camera version of your camcorder. It has the same specs though. 4 megapixel CCD sensor, 30 fps video with external memory, and I got it for less than fifty...
