Are you talking about the "Rocket" version?
If I remember correctly, the original used plywood (1/16"?) bottom sheeting from the firewall to just behind the belly wheel.

Has anyone tried using 1/8" sheet instead of the 1/4" taper on the aft part of the wing? My thoughts are to align the top where the tapered sheet would go and maintain the top contour. The bottom...

I would suggest that one should be Lee Renaud's "Q-Tee". It was the plane from which the "Cutie" was derived.

The purpose of the original Honker was to have a small, inexpensive hand-launched plane just for fun. For that reason it has a deep fuselage to facilitate hand launches and help prevent breaking...

I built the four channel, which did you build? :)

Mine is on 27.195 and still works but I can't use it since it was the old wider bands. :(
