The nitro content and the fuel is probably good as long as it contains some castor oil in the mix. With the Perry VP-30 the idle needle most be leaned more than with muffler pressure. An OS-F plug...

Running slightly rich is more than enough because when you installed a Perry VP-30 about 200rpm from peak is good as it will not lean out in flight. OS-F glow plug seems to run great on large glow...
