RE: Another foam core wing sheeting technique

Here's a variation on this good approach. I have been fiberglassing autogyro blades for quite a while. Usually the cores of the blades are hot wire cut. The SG6042 airfoil seems to work well for...

RE: RCV SP Engines

Hello Bob....
I have used an RCV 60SP in a Trainer 60 for some time. Its weight will be a great help in
getting a good "hang angle" on an autogyro. If you haven't run yours, yet, you will find...

RE: 2009 Summer Gyro meet

Hi Gary (and Jim)...

Glad to see you working on a site for 2009! Since I live on the western end of Wisconsin, I am prejudiced in favor of Gary's
marvelous-looking field. One added...

Hi Jim....
My old age is catching up with me. You are right!.....The Gyro Schtick has the Thunder Tiger .074 in it. The PT Gyro is electric as is the PT 25, both of which I left at Morris. The...

RE: Morris 2008

Hi Charlie...
I left a PT gyro with Jim, Bernie and Joel when I was in Morris this past Thursday. It already has a Thunder Tiger Installed, servos, even a channel 16 receiver.
Don't know if it...

RE: 7th Annual Autogyro meet

I tried to get my bean recipe accepted in a cook book. But it didn't make the cut....the first ingredient is
a half a ton of field stones!

RE: Twin rotor Gyro idea

Hello "Gravity..."
Charlie is correct. I did fly (briefly) a twin rotor gyro with articulated rotors on either side at the Spring Hill fly-in a couple of springs ago.
I am planning to be at the...

RE: Robbe Whopper

There was an article in "RC Report" sometime in the 1992-1995 era about the Whopper. It talked about using a string to get the
rotor up to speed while taxiing etc. Perhaps the publisher of RC...

Hi Jim...

I am planning to make it this year! However, unlike you, I need a motel. Any suggestions
as to who to contact for recommendations?

Dutch Roll

Here's hoping someone can help me with remembering how to correct "dutch roll". Years ago, when flying
polyhedral aircraft such as the Zombie, there was a cure for the dutch roll. It involved...

RE: Gyro Stick first Gyro build

Cash..
The Gyrostik is a fine first-time autogyro. I have built one and found it quite flyable, not needing rudder control.
Unless you are dead set on scratch building, you might check out...

RE: Rule of Thumb for Gyro Electrics?

Hi Mickey...
I think that you are about right. Certainly gyros need more power than
fixed wings.

Rule of Thumb for Gyro Electrics?

There is a rule of thumb for electric powered fixed wing models that says something like:
50 watts/lb.......barely flyable
100 watts/lb.....sport flyer performance
150 watts/lb......really high...

RE: Profile PT 25

Joseph...
Adding to what Joel has replied.....the PT-25 doesn't need 'shims'. However, to clarify what is meant: In some cases if the rotor doesn't spin up with taxiing into the wind, putting...

RE: Autogyro Fun Fly is getting close!

Hi Jim...

Do you have any idea when (or if) there will be an autogyro fly-in next March in Florida? I'll not be able to make the Sept get-together.

Regards,
Bill

RE: Geoges Chaulet´s intermeshing rotors gyro-kite

Thanks for posting the photos from JoJo, Emilio...

Certainly he is one of the truly innovative "gyro modelers" I believe the number of his experimental models is well over 200!

Very interesting result! Thanks for your report, Emilio.

John Kallend used delta-3 for his Whistler...The idea being that

Looks very nice indeed. What engine do you have installed? It doesn't sound 'electric'.
By the way, the temp here today was 79...unusual for March in Wisconsin. Lots of guys flying,...

Based on Jim Baxter's experiences, hand launching didn't work...

RE: Springhill Gyro Pictures

Hey Phil...
Great Photos! These must have been taken early in the day. There were a lot more cars/flyers/folks there later on. The field looks jusrt as great as is really is!
