RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

I hope you offer a similar setup for that new Yak.
I might try it if we can come in at 12lbs or just slightly over.
Can't wait to see what the little...

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

I have to agree with anthonymio

I have the same setup, OS fx 1.60, and it is perfect.
I love my 28% edge with gas, but to increase the wing loading on this one by hanging a gas engine on it in...

oliflyer

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

I'm sure those arms are very good for standard throws and non...

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

Toms right
Those aluminum arms are cool, but the first time I saw one I thought, what was Hitec thinking, they are seldom long enough for proper throws.
If Hitec would include an aluminum arm...

Congrats
When will the maiden be?

I got the lateral balance done by adding 3/4oz to the wing tip. Simply drilled a small hole and inserted lead with 5 minute epoxy.
Plane now stalls...

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

Thanks for the replys.
What I'm looking for is specifics,.. what is it? Lead shot, fishing weights, etc..
Do you drill hole in end of wing and insert the weight into the foam and glue it? OR ...

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

Lateral balance

Now that I have initial flights out of the way, I want to fine tune everything.
I"m interested in opinions on achieving lateral balance.

Because engine is mounted...

Thanks for the replys.

I've still got good visible smoke at idle, so I will lean it on down and see what happens, I'd prefer that
to backing off on the pump pressure. I'd like to make...

Thanks shaun
I am one full turn in on the low from the factory setting, sounds like I need to turn it on in.
The high end needle peaks fine, and I have been backing off just slightly (couple of...

You're right about the carb size, the Webra has a big fat carb. It is way forward too. You could make it work though.
I think you will find that the Webra has a long stroke (tall...

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

My carb doesn't go that far forward. I did trim a little on that side with the dremel though. I have been running a Webra 120 for the past 3 years in another plane I just sold, and well...sell the...

You are correct about the elevator recess tabs, they are set back, and fit the 5625/5645 (and most standard size) servos with no modifications needed.
Just take a heated solder gun...

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

The throttle servo can be mounted in the longer hole if you are using a pump. Simply glue a couple of light pieces of ply under each end of the servo. I used a Hitec 225 mini. Picture was not very...

This is going to be one great setup! Brand new engine out of the box, tapped it for Perry vp 30 pump.
Fired up instantly, and I ran the first tank 4stroke rich,...
