RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

Use pull-pull with the 1.60. Maintenance is not a problem, check the wires from time to time, but they are pretty much always the same after thefirst few flights. Once in a while you may feel like...

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

If using a big 4 stroke laminate some 1/8" aircraft ply to the sides of the motorbox. There are lightening holes there and that area carries a lot of stress. Especially do not cut what is already...

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

There are only so many ways to make a plane light. Virtually every aerobatic plane on the market is made the same way ours are, with stingers and film on the bottom.

If you see this as a...

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

My information is second hand, and the guy is not a 3d flyer, so I really can't say. I had a Thunder Tiger 1.20 that would do what you want, maybe you can extrapolate.

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

The one in all the ad photos with the tinted canopy has a YS-120 and if is an excellent combo.

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

Speaking of which, the RCU review of the Edge 1.20 should be up this weekend. That was the only criticism they had, they bent the wing tube doing walls or something.

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

Probably only an ounce or two combined. The plane is already so light what's the point?

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

What he said. Drill the former so the cable can pass through it.

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

Saito 1.80 is a very popular engine for this plane.

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

I have used Karbonite gear servos on this plane with no failures, they seem to be fine for this plane.

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

It should have plenty of power, making it balance will be a challenge becxause of its very light weight.

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

We stopped supplying the mount with the HW package because what we had was almost never used. Right now there is no mount in the kit.

I have ordered some Great Planes large mounts. As soon as I...

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

Yes he is correct. The VP-30 is what you want on a 2 stroke engine.

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

If you mount it to the firewall it won't work. The oscillation pumps depend on the shaking of the motor for the pumping action, mount it on the engine.

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

645s will work, something digital will work better.

Engine is fine, I'd prefer the other muffler.

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

If the 2300 runs on gas like it does on glow it should have enough power. That's all I can say cause that's all I know.

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

I'm sorry I ever put the Brison 2.4 on mine and told people about it. The baby Edge is a great plane with a 1.20 2 stroke engine, does not use all that much fuel. You can get a decent engine for...

Pat:

He's talking Supertiger, not Zenoah.

I have never seen a Supertiger 2300 that runs right, if BME has one it will be the first.

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

Too mich power and weight. This is a 12 pound plane, with that engine it will be 14 pounds.

Keep the engine weight under 3 pouinds. Better yet use what it's designed for 2 pounds ofglow engine....

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings

No idea, sorry I can't help. Keep the engine weight under 3 lbs. and turn an 18-10 above 7000 rpm and it should fly great.
