The BM has a great hull, but that,s about it....

The BM has a great hull, but that,s about it. With the RC system, if you can get it to work, it will spin out every time you try to turn. All is not lost however. Go to Hobby King and get a small...

RE: More mAh.... harm or help?

Switch to lipos - I replaced NiMH in my boat. It was 1500 mah. Lipo weighs just a little more and is 4500 mah. Boat ran fine but a lot longer. Lipos are cheaper, last longer and with new chargers are...

RE: New Boat

SV27 with 2nd turn fin (left side of transom) is fairly fast, easy to control and carves both left and right turns.

RE: Brushless Balaenoptera Musculus

Mine leaked like a sieve. Problem is the shafts are almost impossible to grease as stock. This season it will be getting a new pair of brush less out runners with new mounts and easy to grease...

RE: Brushless Balaenoptera Musculus

I've always said that sheet metal can be replaced, but not lives. Glad all are OK.

RE: Brushless Balaenoptera Musculus

I'd be more sympathetic, but we are currently camped in Kentucky on our way to Alabama to find some warm weather. Forecast for tom morrow night at home is 19 degrees f. Here foot tomorrow its 17...

RE: Brushless Balaenoptera Musculus

I use WD40 or Corrosion X for all dunkings. With both I reaslly saturate alll electronics. I use several air receivers (not waterproof) and stick the little red pipe into esc and spray until it comes...

RE: MISS GEICO UPGRADES

Aqua craft UL 1 will go like blazes stock. Make sure you have a recovery boat. Hydros are quick, but with that come a lot of flips. I think you might be happiest with the MG. One of my buddies has it...

RE: Aqua Craft need HELP

A pair of 4000 to 4500 mah 2s Turnegy batteries from HK will set you back less than $50 plus you will need a lipo charger. Don't even think of cell ratings below 30c and 40 is better. Remember that...

RE: MISS GEICO UPGRADES

Both Proboat and Aqua craft have boats in your price range. The only question I would have about the Apache is it has a steerable out drive which makes it difficult to upgrade. I prefer a boat with...

RE: MISS GEICO UPGRADES

Sorry I offended you - not my intent. I'm always concerned that we discourage a lot of newbies by suggesting that what they have is not going to work. That little Miss Geico is probably not going to...

RE: MISS GEICO UPGRADES

Many of us think even a $400 expenditure is too high. I also disagree with the statement that Pro boat and Aqua craft boats are poorly built. Example, my SV27 took a full speed crash into a rock...

RE: Shark 650EP Boat

People who flame another poster are simply exposing their own ignorance. It's best to just ignore them. 90% + of the folks on these forums are great people. By the way, I thought your advice was very...

RE: Super Hawaii Build - Dual Outdrives

HK is the only place I've found that has low amp speed controls. I'm running both motors in the BM off a single Turnigy 30 amp with an added cooling plate as that cost less than $8. How long they...

RE: Super Hawaii Build - Dual Outdrives

Go Packers. Misplaced Badger living in Ohio, but heart never left Wisconsin. I love the old "toy" boats. Currently have a 90s Great Planes Wildcat. Pulled the rusted out brushed motors and replaced...

RE: RTR Boats

I use both HK and Spektrum air radios over water with no problems. Most of my buddies use Spektrum. The vast majority of horror stories are just that - stories. Virtually all the 2.4 radios are...

RE: Brushless Balaenoptera Musculus

Just got back from running my B. Musculus. Who would think that on Dec. 1 in Ohio we'd be running boats. Modified my little boat with HK rudder and 30 amp brushed esc to which I added a water cooling...

RE: Very cheap boat for a gift

I would go along with Mini mono. Its a great little smooth water boat. Because its fast for its size, it does tend to get catty in anything over a ripple and flips very easily. It does take an...

RE: Very cheap boat for a gift

True, but for those of us who don't run in competition, a first boat doesn't need to be first rate. It needs to be fun. No inexpensive boat will be racing. If I want to go faster I'll run my SV 27 or...

RE: Very cheap boat for a gift

Baleanoptera Musculus for less than $50 on some sites. While the radio is junk, it does function and the boat is fairly quick. The best part of this boat is it can be upgraded fairly cheaply, and the...

RE: Sv27 help

I've never had a problem with wet lipo or a wet motor, but receiver and esc are a different story. Always tape your hatch up before launching. If you can't find hatch tape or hockey tape vinle...

RE: Sv27 help

Servo isn't a factor in slow speed turning.Fact is that my SV27is a bear to turn at slow speed - this boat is designed for speed, and if it turned better at slow speed, it would be totally...
