RE: Bearing advice

The best bearings for your application from BOCA are his high speed steel ( chrome steel races and balls with plastic retainers). His most expensive are his ceramics. We don't use the ceramics in...

RE: SUPER TIGRE G20-23 question please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I missed the (.). That changes the whole conversation.

Even as frustrating as the confusing way they I.D.ed their engines was the way they changed the design of the internals without...

RE: SUPER TIGRE G20-23 question please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Pe
I have to take issue with one of your statements or maybe I am misreading it. I have a very early G20-23 that is 23cc. It is a relatively small case engine as compared to the G20 series of...

RE: Norvel 25, 40 long term reviews

It will probably help. Getting more air has got to increase the power but how much is very dependent on the port timing. I would sure give it a try though. It is a very nice motor, just a bit too...

RE: Saito 40 run problem

This is a bit of a stretch, but it could be that the idle needle is a little to far in and just barely interfering with the flow from the high speed needle.

RE: Who makes the powerhouse engine these days?

Here is where you get the Nelsons. Mike Langlois now makes them. Mike worked with and made parts for Henry Nelson in the past.

RE: need roll pin for K&B

A good hardware store . Of course they don't exist anymore. There used to be several in the LA area. Try the net. You should be able to get one that way for about 9 bucks. 5 cents for the roll pin...

RE: Thunder Tiger saved

They held the price of the TT40 at $99 because of the 424 rule on the price of the engine. I would imagine they would like to get out from under that rule or change the price with out loosing sales....

RE: MUBU II F5D Build

Always an issue. I used Hitec digital wing servos (5125s I think) in a couple of quickies. I don't think I made 40 flights before I had to replace the gears. But the metal gears in my mini...

RE: MUBU II F5D Build

those really look pretty good. 30inoz, titanium gears, .23oz, 59 bucks. I would put them in a Vtail quickie with a nelson without much hesitation. With 30inoz I would like to see 2 on the elevators....

RE: Norvel 25, 40 long term reviews

I have the 40AX. I flew quite a lot on a fun fly. It runs very well with good throttle response. The power is on the low end of the scale for sport 40s. The reason I believe is because it is...

RE: Sealed bearing loss??

Low viscosity fuel under pressure. All the devices you mention that the lube doesn't leak out of do not have a low viscosity solvent like alcohol under some pressure trying to wash the lub out of...

RE: Telling difference between Nelson Q40 LS & Q40 SS

Run it on 15% nitro. What looks to you like a carburetor is not. It is a choke only. It does not have a low speed needle. The engine will not run below 12000 rpm and probably not below 15000. It...

RE: Telling difference between Nelson Q40 LS & Q40 SS

It's an SS. The throttle (choke) indicates it is a Q500 motor not a Q40. The casting intake is short and would indicate it may be a very old ABC.

RE: Racing Sticker, Application and Removal

Thanks Randy. I should have asked you Florida guys what you did a long time ago. I spent enough time in Jacksonville and Cecil to know what real humidity is.

RE: Racing Sticker, Application and Removal

I have had it happen a couple of times even here in California but I never tried waxing the sticker. I'll do that at the next damp race.
