RE: Official Nitro Evader ST Thread v2.0

Just a few notes from a nitro evader st basher, maybe it'll help someone with the questions!
1. When the stock DTX .18 dies, try to find an Aquacraft .18 and swap out the head. The Aquacraft is the...

RE: Official Nitro Evader ST Thread v2.0

Got it broken in. It's running around 225-230 with 20% blue thunder fuel right now, runs great! It still has a nice smoke trail, so I don't think it's too lean. The original dtx motor didnt have...

RE: Official Nitro Evader ST Thread v2.0

Yeah, i think so. Mine seems to work better than the stock head heat sinks, it does dissipate heat a lot faster. It does not take nearly as long for the head to be cool to touch. It's also lighter...

RE: Official Nitro Evader ST Thread v2.0

I've got four tanks through my new aquacraft .18 on my evader, i've got the engine temp up to 140, it's still blubbery fat. It seems to have a little more power than I remember the old dtx 18 having...

RE: Official Nitro Evader ST Thread v2.0

Just replaced my engine on my nitro evader st...instead of replacing the piston and sleeve on my old dtx .18, i ordered the aquacraft .18, which is the same motor, with a few important exceptions:

RE: Parkzone Supermarine Spitfire Mk11B

Put a coupla flights on mine today, and noticed exactly what you did. It was not a problem, just a little up elevator when it was inverted and I could do nice straight rolls. It don't roll NOTHING...

RE: Parkzone Supermarine Spitfire Mk11B

Bought one of these little fellers today. Mine seems fine, except for minor tail feather packing damage on the vertical stab (not quite as bad as others posted here- i decided it was'nt enough to...

RE: Who thinks 40 sized trainers are just right?

I like 40 size trainers too! I've been learning on one since last fall. And the combination of affordability, size, and abundance of different .40 trainers is icing on the cake.

As a side note,...

RE: I was given a free plane kit, now I know why!

hey! I like my OS 46LA! No, it's not a 50FX, but it was $64.99, and does great on my twist.

As easy as my 46LA has been to operate, I'd say it's a super choice for a trainer. Most people insist...

RE: Questions about power panel

I use the $20 Hanger 9 panel, and I like it a lot. I have a 12v gel-cell inside my field box, and it powers everything but the fuel pump..also use an older corded hobbico starter. I don't have a...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

you should be able to put monokote over ultrakote easily. I've put ultrakote over monokote on my superstar trainer, it worked just fine. For small rips, though, clear packing tape (3M works best as...

Old Top Flite P-51D

Years ago (mid 1970's) my dad bought a TF P-51 kit for $40 at a hobby shop..he built it, did a fair job, flew it twice (crashed once, knocked the tail off) and it sat on the top shelf in the closet...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

you can re-build the fuse to be a little stronger if it only busted in half (if it busted in the usual spot behind the wing), that's not a terribly difficult fix. As long as the wing remained...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

i really don't know if i'll get another....but not because of any fault in the plane, just there's so many of them out there (2 at my field). I might try something different.

Then again, there's...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

RIP....my twist died today. 99.999999999% sure it took a radio hit, as it was glitching and the servos were going nuts when i got to it. I got it up, into a smooth left turn, then it went hard right,...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

i set my CG at 4.5" and it lands more stable than my trainer.

Like ghee-grose said, the first few seconds are the most hairy, because the plane reacts so quickly to input. Once you get-er up and...

RE: OS .46LA sport prop selection

I picked up a 11x5 and an 11x7 (they did'nt have any 11x6's) to try this weekend. 11x5 is a master, the 11x7 is a TF pp. They had plenty of 11x6's and 11x7's in master last week, evidently this...
