Tapers are not created equal.............whilst ive had some serious tooling hold up to immense loads on just a taper, I dont expect all engines to be so accurately made....

Lumiweld would probably work for a small patch, you only need a small blowtorch to use it
do a test first though, the melting point of the rod and the aluminium you are fixing too is quite...

Mark, I realise the difference it makes in squish clearance, but its not really needed decreasing this clearance unless you are...
