RE: Shutting fields down / experiences?

I also fly at this field here in Denton. The problem with people getting 'buzzed' is that just directly north of the landing/takeoff is a jogging/biking path, within less than 100' away. So if a...

YS 60FR & Enya 35 info needed please...

I bought these 2 motors at an estate sale (in order to get a plane, had to buy everything), and don't know how much I should ask to sell them. I have no need for these, thats why I'm selling them....

Nitro percentage...

What affect does higher percentages of nitro have on an engine. Does it make a motor more finicky to set up. I'm dealing with 46-50 size OS and Super Tigres. Fuel being used is Omega 15%.

RE: Self taught

I went the same route as you are doing, got a sim and spent ALOT of time on it before taking a trainer up (PT40). I was fully prepared to crash the 1st time out, money and ego wise. But it has...

RE: Yet another question

For the wings, look at how auto windshields are transported by the installers. Simple to copy (and make adjustments) using PVC.
For fuselages, think along the lines of lumberyard racks for wood....

RE: Which are long lasting engines ABC or Ringed???

I agree with BarracudaHockey. AB? have such a tight tolerance at/near TDC that any lack of lubed due to a lean mixture can make the piston stick to the liner, scraping off some of the chrome/nickel...

RE: Hobbico Top Fueler repairs?

I do like my Dave Brown Six Shooter pump. Everything about it is visible, and if needed rebuilding one is a breeze.[8D]

RE: A NEW KIND OF BUILD THREAD, for those of you . . .

I used a med stain on my Sig box. Then coated it with some polyurethane. The stain really looks good. But stain won't work if there is ANY CA glue on it, but it was only in one spot I didn't see...

With a...

RE: info needed for online hobby store

I bought 2 planes from Cedar Hobbies about a year or so ago. The 40 trainer had some real probs: warped ailerons, poorly cut hinge slots, to name a couple. Since it was to be my '1st victim' I went...

RE: No Instructor - Need a Sturdy Trainer!

Here's annudder suggestion. FX Hobbies make ARF SPADs, their main claim to fame is their wings, they are nice, not the usual sharp leading edge you see on many SPADs.
I know your way up there in...

RE: What's that smell?

A number of my boating buddies (full sized boats, w/Merc v-6s) use Klotz 2-stroke oil. Sometimes when we're making a run up a river I'll fall in right behind them so I can get a good wiff of that...
