RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

I used two Hitec 85mg servo's. I cut down the leads to two inches and redid the connectors to attach to the long servo lead built into the tail. They provide plenty torque and operated fine. See...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

I positioned the rudder servo's as per the plans but used one micro servo for each side of the elevator. My first bronco was way heavy because I glassed and painted the whole thing. Almost 24 lbs...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

It's strange that the Uravitch kit built OV 10 uses light ply for the sides and the Hobby Hangar ARF Bronco based on the Uravitch design uses only balsa for fuse and nacelle siding. The balsa is...

Is there any way to post a fraud alert here on RCU for guys like this. Another thread here has a guy looking for plastic parts for his Bronco after buying the plans from this crook. This guy seems...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

Your plane is being used in an EBAY add now. This guy was using a picture of mine but when I asked him about it in a message he took my picture off and began using yours.

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

I don't know what Fireline is made of but it has served me well for quite some time on the nose wheel steering. I'm also using it for pull pull rudder on my 1/5th scale Topflite Mustang. This stuff...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

I used 20 lb test Fireline fishing line. It has no stretch at all and the tube is actually some outer nyrod tubing.

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

I ran my pull pull cables through short pieces of straw. Attached to the straw were very weak springs/rubber bands anchored to the side of the fuse. This worked and was cheap to do. Picture on...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

I believe if you've already purchased the Spring Air retracts as called for with the kit, the actuators will be sized for 3/16" wire and not suitable for the 3/8" Shinden struts. Will have to get...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

I use about 30 degree flaps for take off and landing. I can't believe how gently the Bronco at almost 24lbs lands. You're right about it jerking off the ground. That's how mine used to take off...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

With my Bronco I found it advantageous to use flaps on take off to shorten the run and to make the lift off smoother. I keep a 6% down elevator mix dialed in with my flaps which I find allows me to...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

If you've yet to begin the build of the Bronco I would suggest that you take steps to lighten it up while building. My bronco is built from the kit originally put out by Hobby Hangar. It had all...
