RE: Blade Vs Honey Bee CP/2

It depends on the model. There are around six different versions of the Esky Honeybee. The Honeybee 2 CP is the exact same heli as the Blade CP (except for the canopy). So parts are interchangeable....

RE: For you electric heli owners?

If you're talking Blade vs. Honeybee 2 CP, well, they're exactly the same heli! But, as mentioned above, you'll get WAAAYYY better support from E-Flite/Horizon. So the Blade is definately worth the...

RE: gyro's for a trex

I've got a GY401. It's the most popular gyro for the rex and for good reason. It's easy to setup and works like a charm. Mine has also been through quite a few crashes and has held up. For a second...

RE: Hitech Electron 6 not seeing Futaba 7CH

Did you cycle power on the 7CHP after you switched it to PPM? When you change from PCM to PPM (or the other way) you need to power cycle the TX. Also make sure you've got the right type of crystal.

RE: Blade Vs Honey Bee CP/2

gotime242,
With the links you posted, the first one is the Honeybee CP2. The second one is the Honeybee 2 CP which is identical to the Blade CP. As for the price, add in the shipping and they're...

RE: Blade Vs Honey Bee CP/2

I think paedbo covered most stuff, but I just had to toss in my $0.02... :D

The Blade CP is identical to the original Honeybee 2 CP. There has been a lot of hype about this or that being...

RE: Esky honey bee CP

casipak,
Yep, I upgraded my HB2 CP to the CP2 head. It's a way better design, way more cyclic response. When I broke one of the mixer arms a few weeks ago and had to put the CP1 head back on the HB...

RE: Himax 4100 kv brusless motor question

Mainly the physical size of the motor, but a bigger motor will have a larger can, magnets, and armature. So it's going to have more power.

But to answer your original question. The 2015-4100 is...

RE: Himax 4100 kv brusless motor question

I assume you are talking about the 2015-4100. I'm think paedbo is right. The Shogun runs a 400 size motor and folks use the 2025-4100 there. The 2015-4100 is for 370 size applications like the HB2.

RE: What should I expect to break

Over time, just about everything! :D On my original HB2 CP I think I've replaced every part except two of the servos, the RX and the tail boom. However, a lot depends on the type of heli and your...

RE: laHoney Bee @ CP

I've been using the 370 motors that Century (or heli-world) has on their website for the Hummingbird. Their about $12 and work great. However they come with a 10t pinion. So you'll need to yank the...

RE: Blade CP and Futaba 7CHP Transmitter...

I use a Futaba 7CHP with my Honeybee 2 CP (same heli). The setup should be the same. Here's what I've got:

For DR, EXP I have the AIL and ELE set at 140%, RUD set to 100%, I have the EXP set to...

RE: Shogun 400 or T-Rex 450??

The 25A ESC works and a lot of people use it. But the TRex is power hungry. With the 25A you're probably on the edge. With the 35A you've got some margin.

I've got a mostly stock TRex V2. It's...

RE: Esky honey bee CP

I think the shafts tend to bend when the rotors slam into something (like the ground) at full speed. Sometime I go for weeks without bending one. On the other hand, a couple weeks ago I bent the crap...

RE: Esky honey bee CP

I'd stick with the stock main shaft. The titanium shaft will still bend in a crash. And it'll cost a heck of a lot more to replace.

RE: Is the Honey bee the same heli as the Blade??

The Honeybee that Hobby Lobby has on sale is the Fixed Pitch version. And the price ain't that great. You can probably get a Honeybee FP on eBay these days for less than $100.

The Honeybee 2 CP...

RE: Tail motors....Any solutions?

What pinion do they put on the main motor on the Blade? I have a couple of HB2s they have an 8 tooth pinion on the main motor. And I usually get weeks (not days) out of a tail motor. The other day I...

RE: Trex transmitter requirements

Actually, the HS-50 is more expensive than the HS-55. The HS-50 is faster. So it's a real common tail servo. Also, I'd recommend using HS-56 rather than 55 for the rex's cyclic and pitch. They are...

RE: Esky honey bee CP

The blade cp has the same rotor head as the regular HB2. My LHS just got some Blade CPs in and I took a good look at it. It's the HB2 CP.

I ordered all of the parts for the CP2 head and got them...

RE: Esky honey bee CP

batfalcon,
I guess I'm a little confused. Are you trying to decrease the headspeed on the CP? If so, why? In general FP helis run at a lower headspeed than CP. This is why a lot of people like them...

RE: Esky honey bee CP

It's possible that Esky changed the gearing on the CP2. I haven't seen one yet. So I'm not sure what they are using for the pinion.

How does it fly? Did you have a HB2 CP? I'm just curious to...

batfalcon,
I got one of those nifty infra-red temp guns last week. I was just out flying my HB2. After about 10 minutes of flying the motor was 110F. So it sounds like your motor is running really...

RE: Esky honey bee CP

batfalcon,
If you are on the ground or in the air, the tail rotor is always blowing air to the right which pushes the heli to the left. So to hover and stay in one place the heli is going to lean a...

RE: HoneyBee 2 LiPo -Collective adjustments???

That's just the way it is. With the Esky TX you need to have the throttle trim all the way down to arm the ESC, but to get it off the ground you need to max out the throttle trim. 75% or better. The...
