RE: 51

Thanks for the compliments Jeff! I hope you put one of these together. It's super cheap and lets you get down and dirty with no worries. Great practice without putting the MFX in harms way.

RE: 51

Z,
That's great that see still flies well at 48"s. Your right about it being easy to repair as well. I'm so glad your having with it.

I flew the 40"er twice today at my parents. My Dad asked...

RE: 51

Well the 40" flew pretty well. I threw some junk servos on it so that is the only complaint I have with the plane. I tried 2 different batts... 1800mah and 1200mah. With the 1200 it flies better and...

RE: 51

The 40" is ready to maiden. I was so tempted to fly it under the street lights but I thought better of it. The wind should be down tomorrow so it should be a go. I'm at 1# 7 ounces which is on the...

RE: 51

OK... I'm back for a bit more I hope. It's been a whirl wind week of attacks on my family[:@]

I painted the 40" with Kyrlon short cuts paint. I'm not impressed with my paint job and furthermore...

RE: 51

I didn't like how much stab I had so I decided to cut some off. Are you guys getting how much is up to you and won't change too much if you want to draw a different line;) Just draw a plane with...

RE: 51

I thought I do sort of a build using the 40" I'm working on. After the foam profile is cut out it's time to start thinking about how it's all going to come together. I started by using my motor with...

RE: 51

I doubt it will have any drastic changes to the flight characteristic. Changing tail angles, lengths, as well as wing placement will change Knife Edge flight you may find the changes for the better....

RE: 51

Mine was 2# 6.2 ounces ready to fly with 3s, it was a bit more on 4s but I didn't weigh it. I mounted the battery with velcro on the fuse and batt and then cut a slot for a velcro strap to go around....

RE: 51

Z,
Sorry to hear she got dinged up but hey... it's just foam right:D I think it's a good idea to shave her down to fit. I can't imagine it will change the flight characteristics too much.

RE: 51

Brady,
I'm not sure on my AUW as the motor/esc and rx now sit in another airframe. Good calculation for seting up the planes though. I'm in construction so normally I take what the engineers have...

RE: 51

Today I found some time to start cutting a beta 40" version. This will be lighter weight and smaller to fit in my Honda Civic better. I'm hoping a E-Flite Park 400 and 1320-1800 mah batteries will...

RE: 51

Z,
I think a skid would be good as well. Flat carbon fiber would be best but expensive. Maybe just a few strips of thin plastic on the rudder and the fuse bottom held by Gorilla Glue. I would just...

RE: 51

I like the motor box you built, it looks like it would add a lot of strength. I know how it goes ending up at the LHS for a while. My wife knows better when I say," I'll be right back" , LOL.
