I've had several health issues: a brain tumor and a complication of surgery gave me a pulmonary embolism. Good news is a year and a half later the MRI shows just a big...

You can launch your standard size (large wing area) green Diamond Dust all day long like that, but I don't think I'd try that with Whiplash that nearly weighs twice as much. Most wont have much luck.

The carb that came on the original OS 55AX is one of the best OS ever produced. The main factor as is with most of these muffler pressured glow engine is carb relation to the tank. The closer the...

RE: Diamond Dust + 2.4GHz

The kits have black fiber glass spars(non-conductive). The most after market substitutes people find are carbon fiber(very conductive).

RE: 50 sx

Note! Some of those had problems with bearing bore alignment in the case. This will quickly become evident if perfectly good bearings go south after about 20 total minuets of flight. If this is the...

RE: Diamond Dust + 2.4GHz

Yeah, me too. That's one of the reasons I haven't converted from 72 Mhz JR mini dual conversions (non synth). Never a glitch.
But you can be the guinea pig.:)

RE: Carbon fiber props

Wow, it looks like they have discontinued the quickie 40 props! The carbon prop list is cleared. There looks to be only some shallow pitch carbons on the long list. If this is true, Fred must be...

RE: Bead Blasting

I have glass bead blasted engines a dozen times or so and it make an OS look fresh out of the box. It's best if the engine is disassembled because the blast can lift away taped/masked areas, then you...

RE: Please Help With Piano-wire Landing Gear

Well Mikie, That's a nice delta project. I'm going to agree with combatpigg on on weight being your enemy. You could do it, but to keep the weight down would take a lot of engineering and I don't...

RE: Ringed 2 Stroke Break In

LOL, You named the one engine that may out live us all and takes about two gallons till it reaches full strength. If you run fuel containing zero nitro the bearings last forever also in a Moki/Mark...

RE: Jett .56LX vs West 52V1 for Magnum R

No, not necessarily. The 55 AX & Red Jettstream should really honk with a 10X9 APC. It should be about 14,500 rpm once it's run in for a while and that's where this engine likes it, don't try to make...

RE: Jett .56LX vs West 52V1 for Magnum R

From what I have gathered from websites and reported numbers is that the Jett 56 is in a league by it's self, perhaps the most powerful sport engine for it's size ever made. Jett nailed it with this...

RE: Sundowner 50

O.P. :
Run an APC 10X9 with a tuned red Jet muffler or tuned pipe. Id stay away from 10X8, 30% and cooler plug on the 55, it will make more power, but it takes a toll on engine life. Expensive...

RE: OS 91 VRDF experts wanted

I first discovered how well they ran is when I'd run the engine through at the end of the day with FAI fuel. I would do this for DF and Marine engines. If you don't do this, the bearings wont last. ...

RE: OS 91 VRDF experts wanted

The pipe length looks about right, but is it the right volume? Loose the deflector, at least for now. And loose the spinner, you can let the engine chuck it at a later date, just kidding, I don't...
