RE: the OFFICIAL R-40 thread !

I heard from Barcar that they are trying to get a Race organized before the Regionals. With that being said, they still have paperwork to sign before they are allowed to race there. The guy who owns...

RE: the OFFICIAL R-40 thread !

There's a race at BPT this weekend as in this coming Saturday? As far as I know the only race they had was Sept 10th Regionals. If I get all my stuff set I'd sure love to come, but the only thing...

RE: the OFFICIAL R-40 thread !

I do have some Sirio Evo 3 owners and feedback from guys who consistently race them. They haven't complain or know of any issues with the conrod and or piston/sleeve. From what I DO know the OS...

RE: the OFFICIAL R-40 thread !

Sounds good. I need to go to BK hobbies for a pipe since this LHS here and tony's doesn't have much to choose from. The turbo pipe tony has I'm not sure if it's legal. Maybe I can order a nice one...

RE: the OFFICIAL R-40 thread !

Cool beans. I do remember finding the Evo1 and 2 quite easily. If I can bag a two that'd be fine otherwise OS or Mega ZX12 it is. What a pain EB mods don't sell the sleeves.

RE: the OFFICIAL R-40 thread !

D- I can't find the piston/sleeve set for the EB Mods TZ at all. I'd just have to get the original then. Here's the thing if I can't order it online I'd have to buy in person. The only engine offered...

RE: the OFFICIAL R-40 thread !

I'm debating on the Zeppin. Thing is from most of the top racers I know they say the OS doesn't last long...but the motors make great power. I love the JP...just not the price. Honestly I've seen a...

RE: the OFFICIAL R-40 thread !

I am aware of both engines as well as all the other new .12s, .21s, etc that's been coming out. I'm just deciding on which one to go with since I'm NOT spending $400+ on an engine..both .21 and .12....

RE: the OFFICIAL R-40 thread !

Depending on the length of the crankshaft and what shaft the engine has determines how much shims you'd use. I use no shims behind the flywheel therefore allowing me to use a total of 4 shims (2...

RE: the OFFICIAL R-40 thread !

The mugen, kyosho, and serpent arent much lighter than the R40. Infact there IS no advantage to acceleration in the weight difference - all you'd get is car reaction time. I ran a box stock R40...

Those are Ellegis. ATS makes the same style rim with red or yellow/green rims. www.brooklynhobbies.com has them for real cheap.

RE: the OFFICIAL R-40 thread !

See the 05 Hara as completely different upper deck and chassis. It also comes with a lower gear ratio for the big tracks. For the most part I'm running a slightly upgraded original R40 with no...

RE: the OFFICIAL R-40 thread !

I'm used to switching from class to class. Setting up the cars to my liking really doesn't take long either. I drove the 8th one day and swapped to the R40 in seconds running at bpt track. I've had...

RE: the OFFICIAL R-40 thread !

I was thinking of going with the 05 hara, but I dislike the availability for the parts and the price. I'm sticking with my first gen R40 kit with minimal upgrades and make my way around the track...
