I set it to the reccomendation is the OS manual, which is 1.5 clicks out from closed. I have run two tanks since then, registering about 175 degrees on the temp gauge.

So I'm okay to start...

Really? Even with a new piston, ring and cylinder liner? This was my first rebuild, I just assumed I would need to do another break-in. Cool, thanks for the info...hopefully it'll be awhile before...

Update...ordered the parts to rebuild the engine, did the rebuild yesterday and fired her up this afternoon, started up first go:D:D:D The rebuild was really easy, replaced the stock engine bearings...

Had some engine problems today. First the engine wouldn't turn over, thought maybe it was hydrolocked, but that wasn't it. Long story short, I dropped the engine and the crankshaft had up and down...
