RE: Speed Freaks Wanted- Over 200 Members already !

Thanks for the kind words Vic; my flying does tend to go downhill as soon as two or more pylons and 1-3 more airplanes besides mine are involved though... It usually degenerates into flying a much...

RE: Speed Freaks Wanted- Over 200 Members already !

The 9x7 will have a LOT more static thrust than the 8.75x9W, you shouldn't have too much trouble getting in the air with that. Your top speed will be limited with the APC sport prop on there, but...

RE: Speed Freaks Wanted- Over 200 Members already !

I just posted a video of a hand-launch of my Magnum, where it almost didn't make it. I was using an APC 8.75x9W prop on the Jett .50. That prop gives it about the best top speed, but it doesn't have...

RE: Speed Freaks Wanted- Over 200 Members already !

Ditto on the expo. The Magnum only lends itself to broad sweeping maneuvers, due to the speed, a little expo is all you need. Flying it slow is a recipe for disaster. With the high wing loading, you...

RE: Speed Freaks Wanted

I have the 1/2A Shrike with a Norvel .061 and HAD the Shrike .40 with an O.S. 46 SF ABC-P, enjoy(ed) them both.
I've got the .15 sized kit too, barely started building though. It will get an MVVS...

RE: Speed Freaks Wanted

Nope, I don't know Rog. I also have a 1/2A Shrike, with a Norvel .061 for power. It's already
been through two mid-airs, one with another 1/2A Shrike (same flying buddy as the one with
the .40...

RE: Speed Freaks Wanted

The Texans are a blast to race. We are using the Thunder Tiger .25 GP which is just over $50 and the kit
is just around $40. That's about as cheap as you can get into any kind of racing. Having the...

RE: Speed Freaks Wanted

Oh Hi Vicman,
I didn't see in your post you were from NC too. I've met quite a few guys in clubs along I-40 racing the
House of Balsa AT-6's the past two seasons. The closest I got to Valdese was...

RE: Speed Freaks Wanted

Hi Strykaas,
I got this plane built and "pre-crashed" off of that large auction website. It had been hastily and shoddily
repaired; just well enough to look halfway ok in the picture. First hand...
