Super Brain 977

I have a Super Brain 977 and it only seems to charge my 2s lipo at a maximum rate of 2.5 amps. The battery capacity is 5800mah so I'd like to charge at 5 amps. I can charge NIMH batteries up to 5...

RE: 977 fan bearing???

I have the exact same problem with a charger that is several years old. Sometimes the fan doesn't start at all but if I bump the charger or blow on the fan then it starts. Other times it will be...

RE: Himoto Mega XB10 vs HPI Racing Brama 10B 4WD

I don't have either but I'm actually thinking about getting the Himoto XB10 or MT10. From what I've seen on other threads these are new models that are much improved over previous Himoto, Redcat and...

RE: Wind Hobby Ferret 1/16th Electric Buggy

Thanks guys. After I posted I realized that I missed the slight size difference and thought both were the same scale. The racing I'd be getting into wouldn't be very competitive at first however now...

RE: Wind Hobby Ferret 1/16th Electric Buggy

Would the Ferret, upgraded with a VR3 motor, bearings and a better battery, be a suitable choice for "recreational" racing indoors on carpet and other surfaces? My other possible choice is a Vendetta...

RE: Wind Hobby Ferret 1/16th Electric Buggy

email4walker...in the video you posted was everything basically stock except for the motor which you upgraded and the shocks? Were you running the stock battery?

RE: Upgrading HBX bonzer

I was able to fit a 16t pinion by drilling out the stock motor mounting hole (bottom one only) AND the one behind it so that they essentially are now just one big open oval clear through to the...

RE: HBX, Who else owns one??

Well unfortunately my Tamiya Super Sport TZ motor burned up on the third run. Sure was fast while it lasted though! I think the problem was some grit got in the gearbox and the gears were "sticking"...

RE: HBX, Who else owns one??

Well let's see...for the motor mounting holes in the chassis I think I used the rear-most hole on the bottom and the middle (normal) one on the top. As for on the motor, I can't remember for sure but...

RE: HBX, Who else owns one??

I just got a Tamiya TZ motor this week and was able to install it with a 16 tooth pinion. I had to play around a bit looking at the different mounting holes in the chassis and the motor (which has 4...

RE: HBX Owners: I want to hear from You ONLY

I purchased the HBX Cross Tiger new from an Ebay store a few weeks back and have been very pleased with it. I got it for about $80 shipped but the seller didn't include the battery or charger (which...

RE: HBX, Who else owns one??

"Fortunately" my ESC got fried the second day I had the Cross Tiger (driving it through the snow and ice was just too much fun to pass up!) so I already have that taken care of. The one I got is...

RE: HBX, Who else owns one??

Does the Tamiya TZ or their Dirt Tuned motor provide much of a speed or torque increase over the stock motor? If so, what pinion gear do I need to get with them? It doesn't look like the stock pinion...

RE: Gyrotor indoor/outdoor Heli

Like the PiccoZ I'm sure wind/air currents outdoors will affect the Gyrotor. I'm also watching to see how people like the Gyrotor. I've had a lot of fun with the PiccoZ and the prospects of a...

RE: PiccoZ Micro R/C heli

I assume you've added one or two of the silver decals to the nose? As mentioned in one of the earlier posts it just sort of floats aimlessly if there isn't a little weight in the front. I added one...

RE: PiccoZ Micro R/C heli

I picked up the PiccoZ at TRU yesterday evening and so far I've had a blast with it. My 2 year old daughter loves watching it fly! I did have to add one of the weight decals under the nose to get...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I modded my battery box to handle the 9-cell battery used by the Typhoon. The plane has fantastic power with the 9-cell. I also removed the ACT "eyes" (unplugged them from the board and removed them...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Maybe I'll call and see if they will send me a new receiver too. I'd really like to try the drop module!

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Maybe you can glue it back together. I had to do that with mine a few times when I used to use it with the Aerobird. The landing gear didn't offer much protection for it! Super glue seemed to work...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Anyone else having trouble with the drop module? I saw an earlier post where someone couldn't get it to release. Mine does the same thing. I was going to try dropping some things last week and found...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

willfann,

Assuming anyone still trusts me after that servo wire count incident [8D], I think you would be able to use the fw-190 parts in the SC. Both have the 480 motor and I think the prop is...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

willfann, the Super Cub servos are the Hobbyzone/Parkzone 3 wire servos. The servos in the Typhoon are Parkzone servos with the more standard 5 wire configuration.

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I couldn't believe that I just stumbled into it at the LHS. That never happens to me! So far I'm quite impressed with this plane. I agree that a plug and play version would be nice but I doubt we'll...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Anyone still interested in the Super Cub? I don't think it's gotten much attention under the Hobbyzone brand. I just picked it up yesterday. The LHS said they just got them in. This is my fifth plane...
