RE: 280 motor and batteries

i say to go Li-PO, if it is possible (budgetwise). just get a nice TP 11.1V and suitable ESC for it and it should fly fine. it would be a great airplane later on with a brushless motor too.

RE: Great Planes Spectra kit

i slapped a 4 cell pack together for tomorrows maiden. i dont really plan on using throttle, just the glide testing, maybe some flying around the field for a little bit. i put GWS Naros in it and...

RE: Christmas Present: CG Eagle 400

my neighbor has one of these. i love the heck out of it. the stock motor/gearbox wasn't very good so he strapped a rimfire on it and it flies great! if only it had a steerable nosewheel it would be a...

RE: Great Planes Spectra kit

why is my battery getting hot?

well, i got my GWS BN-2 going today. it was too foggy to fly so i decided to run a battery pack to test thrust and whatnot. i have a GWS ICS-480 15A ESC running the two 300H motors swinging 5040...

RE: it keeps on nose diving

if i were you, i would get some experience flying before trying extreme aerobatics. the plane is NOT designed to hover and do 3D. again, you did the full up elevator bit. give small easy control...

RE: it keeps on nose diving

there is also a possibility that you are stalling it by giving it full up elevator. check the CG, fix that problem, then try and fly it. give just enough up elevator to make it climb. i would say...

RE: it keeps on nose diving

it should say in the manual where the CG placement is. put a mark on each side of the wing where the CG is located(like it says in the manual). if it is nose heavy, ducttape some quarters to the rear...

RE: SPEED CONTROLS

do not use a brushed ESC with a brushless motor. a 40-60 amp brushless ESC on a speed 400 brushless motor is PLENTY. that motor only pulls about 20 amps max with a 11x7 prop i think. a castle...

RE: it keeps on nose diving

i see that it says up to 70 MPH. i think that you need to just get a different plane to learn on, especially if this is your first plane. this is one of those toy grade planes that sucks people into...

RE: it keeps on nose diving

if it is nose heavy, try moving the battery back until you get the CG right. if the battery is back as far as it will go but it still wont balance right, add some tail weight, or remove some nose...
