personally, i cut power to about 50% as soon as i begin to think about landing, no matter what altitude i am at. if i need to "go around" due to a faulty runway lineup, it's always very easy to run...

from memory, i think the super cub battery is supposed to be charged at 1.2 amps. check the video that came with the plane. they tell you at what rate to charge the battery. good luck.
