RE: F27 STRYKER, WAY PAST THE LIMITS! PART 4...

Gandalf,
Do not quote me on this, but I believe the way a motor works is that it draws as many amps as it needs (ie 25 at WOT), and that is all that is taken from the battery. I think that...

RE: F27 STRYKER, WAY PAST THE LIMITS! PART 4...

I'm sure this information is posted in detail somewhere in of the threads, but could someone tell me the optimum prop for the BP21? Am I correct in thinking it is the APC 7x5E?

RE: F27 STRYKER, WAY PAST THE LIMITS! PART 4...

Btw I know what you mean about...

RE: F27 STRYKER, WAY PAST THE LIMITS! PART 4...

Hi guys, not sure if any of you veterens remember me, but I used to own a modded stryker until I lost it.... Anyway after about 8 months away from the hobby I'm considering returning to the dark...

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS!

Man, I spent about 6 hours looking for my bird in total, and still no sign. My guess is it's either stuck in a tree somewhere or someone has nicked it, but I don't think anyone in my aimiable little...

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS!

Haha that kinda cheered me up CM.

As to how it happened, i was doing some high altitude flying as it was such a nice day, and thinking "boy this sky makes it a bit tricky to tell which way it's...

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS!

Anyone got any ideas for finding lost strykers?

Yup, you guessed it.

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS!

Just out of curiosity, how small will a stryker look at 5000' away? I use a regular RCD rx too, and it would be kinda reassuring to know that it would go out of sight before it goes out of range...

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS!

Cadetman,
I hear ya, the power to weight ratio of lipos makes take-offs and landings so much easier! You can even take off inverted and come out ok!

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS!

RoughLanding,
CA holds it on, but I found that it still wasn't impossible to get off. However, after you have CAd it on a few times I'm sure it loses it's effectiveness.

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS!

While everyone is talking about how rubbish the stock electronics are, I just thought I'd add my bit. I got my stock stryker about 6 weeks ago and flew it for about a month. In that time, I actually...

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS!

When using motocalc, do you have to download a stryker airframe or something? I can't see the stryker on there, and I dont see that you can get accurate results without it.

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS!

Cadetman,
I tried running motocalc but obviously got something a bit wrong, as it reckons that the BP21 on a 7x5 will do 19mph... This is the first time I've used it so I'll try and figure it out...

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS!

mrfixit,
Yeah I agree, about 6 weeks ago I was a complete n00b to RC planes, and now I'm flying a modded stryker! If you just take the time to read through all the pages you will learn a lot, but I...

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS!

Glacier,
I had the same idea, just the only hinges I can find are metal ones! I tried using hinges for the elevons, but they are just too heavy. What do you guys use, plastic ones?

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS!

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS!

Cadetman,
Nah don't really fly on much of a hill. There is a small slope, but it's nothing huge. Right, off to fly again :D Moving the control rods down to the bottom of the servo horn makes such a...

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS!

A quick question: If a plane normally does say 45mph, but when you are flying straight into a headwind it does about 1mph, does that make the windspeed 44mph?

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS!

Does anyone know how to make an electric plane quiter? I was halfway through a flight when the lady that owns the field I fly in said that she doesn't mind, but her daughter would rather she didn't...

RE: F27 STRYKER,WAY PAST THE LIMITS!

Cadetman,
Yes, if I remember right I think you would be right. I believe I was crusing around at 1/2 throttle at high altitude, and when I came to throttle up I didn't get as much power as I was...
