Well got soaking wet!!!! car will not start now due to collet slipping and when the car is pressed on the starter box the engine makes a sound as if it is flooded when it isnt and it siounds like...

Well i raced it today and it went like a dream! just need to get used to the handeling after the topspeed! There is alot of blue smoke at acceleration, i tapped the pins back yesterday at the track...

Hey guys, good news! went to my track today for a work party and couple of guys fixed the clutch! The pins were too far out on the clutch! Then i had to lean the car 3 turns for it to react normally!...

sounds fine accelerating, but the rest is chuggin, yeh i wuld say gargling!

ok... lol ive now got the car to accelerate fast after idling for a few seconds, but now when i do accelerate the car goes fast for 4 secs, then laggs and then i try to caccelerate out of that and...

I am seriously thuinking of selling my r40 now as i have not had it since december, and i still cant seem to get the (what i think it is) clutch right! Now when io rev the car in the air the wheels...

Hey, on your r40.... does anyone have an engine with an sg shaft.....? Do you use that bearing that is suplied with the kit to put behind the inside of the cluthcbell? are you suppost to?..cheers :D

Hey, i havnt been on in a while but i have my r40 clutch working now, but when i do accelerate, its nothing to do with the engine, but the 2 speed gears spur ones seem to make a 1 hell of a rattling...

ewww the 2 speed housing has a groove in from where the little hex screws to adjust the time it changes from 1st to 2nd used to not be inside the shoe when i had no clue where it was suppost to be!...

o.k the gears are quiet when pushed forwards now, but is it suppost to be harder to push backwards, not too hard but if done fast enough it can tick the engine over?

the engine runs fine when the spurs arnt meshing with the pinions, but the problem is that the car makes a hell of a racket when pushd forward/backwards when the spurs are meshed with the pinions!...

o.k so the engine runs fine now! but when the 2 speed is making a loud rattling sound when pushed f/backwards and when the car is on idle after about 5 seconds the gears seem to splutter and jam...

Done!!!!!:D thanks all it needed was a new collet! Only get a few mins to test it tomoz as ive got a sk8 comp![8D]

When the collet is not all the way in with a bit sticking out of the flywheel, the flywheel spins slightly rubbing on the crank shaft, should i push it all the way or further in?

Hi guys, is the collet inside the flywheel suppost to be pushed all the way inside the flywheel so none of the collet is coming out? cheers, Glenn!

just ordered one from kevs racing bits as im in the u.k! it is the flexible one! sooo peeed off as the serious racers at my club are laughing as its so hard to adjust and they run serpents!

Does anyone know of an easier clutch for the r40 as my stock one has got a broken spring the 1.6mm spring part no in the manual 87098 and i am sooo ticked off as i have had my r40 nearly a month and...

Cheers, but it just unthreads itself from me pulling it back im only on my 3rd tank and 2 were static (dont moan) because i have been trying to get the clutch to enguage for two tanks!:D
