RE: Sig Spacewalker II 1/4 scale

I tried using a router table with a proper size round-over bit. Worked great for the straight sections, but of course it wasn't so good on the rounded sections at the top of the rudder and such like.

RE: Old magazines vs current generation magazines

Have to agree with you. I subscribe to the British mags (RCM&E, Flying Scale Modeler, etc.) because they are more like what we used to have in the US. they're more than a bit expensive, but I love...

RE: OS SX-H Hyper Blowing glow plugs

Have to agree on the lean run. A smoke trail indicates that there is sufficient oil in the fuel, not that the mixture is lean or rich. Have you tried pinching the fuel line at full power? If the...

RE: Looking for Airfoil advice

Will this work? I found it using a Google search on the airfoil number. If you go up one level on the link you will find many NACA airfoils listed.

RE: A1 Skyraider

I would assume that when you are running the engine, the plane is sitting on its wheels. This puts the thrust line of the engine above the pivot point of the aircraft, the contact patch of the...

RE: YA Spitfire IX Canopy won't stay closed.

It seems I've also heard of people using a section of square tubing with a slot cut in one side for something like the head of a screw to travel in. You might also try making the sliding action...

RE: What type of plane would be good for an OS FF-320 53cc glow engine?

Would something like Balsa USA's 1/3 scale Super Cub be suitable?

RE: Vailley Hurricane

Have you considered contacting Vailley directly? He must have had a good reason for his choice of wood, eg, strength.

RE: Honda GX25 - Self tapping screws?

You could probably tap each of the holes with the appropriate (coarse or fine) M5 tap and use standard M5 bolts.

RE: Inkscape for .svg Vector Files

Make sure the laser doing the cutting can handle 36" long pieces. Mine can only handle 32" pieces.

RE: Goshawk plans

Here's one possible source. No knowledge of how true to scale the plans are, however.

RE: Lonestar balsa Oou of Business

I noticed the posting at the bottom of the first page saying something about being TEMPORARILY CLOSED at the present time, however, that may be in response to their suppliers not being able to fill...

RE: Lonestar balsa Oou of Business

You must have the wrong address for the web site. It works fine for me just like they said on page 95 of the March issue of Model Aviation. Try http://www.lonestar-balsa.com/

RE: Cheap SolidWorks Clone software?

You might try Sketchup from Google. I don't know if it's a clone or not, but it does 3D modeling. Maybe it would be worthwhile to have a machine with the same OS that you were using with SW. Could...

RE: 1/8 scale WWII Pilot Figures - Where?

Wouldn't a 1/7 scale figure be too large since 1/7 = .143 and 1/8 = .125?
Maybe an overweight 1/9 scale would be better.

RE: CAD help

I think it would really help you get a good answer if you gave a little more info, eg, what CAD program to start. There are many out there to choose from.

Since Tandy went out of business, you might have to try an automotive upholstery shop. They do leather seats.

RE: wing servos...1 good 2 better?

Don't forget about the length of the pushrods, etc if you use only one servo. They aren't really all that expensive, are they?
