RE: Hangar 9 Ultra Stick 40

Thanks. I am putting an old Satio 0.65 in the Stik. Reading the above, it seems people lean towards bigger 4-strokes. Any thoughts / suggestions? I am not a 3-D flyer.

And any suggestions /...

RE: Hangar 9 Ultra Stick 40

I have the older Yellow Ultra Stik 40 without the counterbalanced tail. Was wondering if anyone modified a Yellow tail to be counterbalanced? Is it worth the hassle? Not necessary unless you're...

RE: TT .46 pro

Anyone have any readings for a TT 0.40? These are the engines my club (NEPRO) uses for Pylon Racing.

Thanks, Mike

Question on Receivers: Hitec Electron 6 or Futaba R168DF?

The Hitec weighs 0.4 oz less, but Futaba may b e higher quality?

RE: Radio Hardware

Dave,

For roughly the same price as the 149DP (~$150+13 for crystal), did you consider the Futaba R319DPS 9-Channel PCM Receiver Synthesized? More channels to play on, and about the same weight...

RE: Radio Hardware

Seems to be that HS-225's with NYLON GEARS for all three control surfaces is the winner.

Any thoughts on lightweight PCM receivers?

RE: Radio Hardware

Thanks again.

But I don't understand the comment "Nylon gears won't develop slop as quick. " I figure just the opposite would be true; the metal gears would be more reliable. That's why I...

RE: Radio Hardware

Thanks for all the input.

SERVOS:

While the Futaba 9650 reads like a great servo, at $60 a piece, it’s a little outside my price range / flying abilities. Futaba doesn’t seem to...

RE: Viper wheels

Lee,

For a throttle servo, would a Futaba FP-S133 work? I ask because I have a few in another plane.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the help, Mike

RE: Viper wheels

Dave,

I thought the CG tank would be wide. What about the standard with a 2" diameter? Mount it at the CG under the wing or foward just behind the firewall?

As for the HS-55, what I...

RE: Viper wheels

I'm new to the whole Pylon scene, having helped with NEPRO last season as a judge. I've recently bought a VIPER, and reading all the posts / my time at NEPRO, I learned two things: New wheels and a...
