RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA

RCIgnition, so does that mean I can order the replacement part, just pull out the old one and push in the new at the right angle? Does it need to be glued or something, will it just push in; i.e.,...

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA

Does anyone know if that black plastic fuel feed on the carb is glued, pressed, scewed in. While my engine seems to be running fine since I got it back, this fuel tntake tube is pointed almost 90...

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA

Well, I guess it's time I posted here. I had another incognito thread running on my SAP problem until I emailed MsgtRob and found we both had the exact same problem - a spun hub. And thanks for the...

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA

Thanks Todd. I didn't state it very well. My comments were directed toward flipping the engine with the ignition on AND trying to manually hold the choke closed; a very unsafe process at best.

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA

On my plane the choke rod is a 2-56 pushrod running out through the bottom of the fuselage. I drilled a very small small hole just big enough for the rod. When I pull the choke closed there is just...

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA

Yes, there may be good reasons he went with that carb in spite of the choke design; not because of it, or just by chance.

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA

I believe that in the end Todd is eventually going to have to go with a different version of the Walbro carb. I haven't raised the issue with him yet; but originally I thought I really like the...

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA

I have about a gallon and a half through the SAP180 now. The 30cc engine is really easy on the gas, runs forever on 16 oz. I would say things really started to settle down after a gallon. The idle...

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA

I just hooked my fish scale up to my Syssa and got about 16.8 pounds of pull on about 8700 rpm with a Vess 18x6. the motor is new and not yet tuned for optimum performance; but a pretty good...

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA

skillet92, I have my SAP on a 15.4 pound plane. The engine is new, but will still hover the plane just fine. One of my next projects is to put this engine in an ESM warbird - it will be an awesome...

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA

Cap,

I apologize [sm=confused_smile.gif], it was a slow Friday night. I asked Todd specifically about the baffles. As stated above someplace, they reduce the sound about 5-6 decibals; with no...

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA

The baffles are a newly developed performance option. The interior tapered wall causes the exhaust gas to compress as it exits. This compression reduces side wall pressure thus effectively helping...

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA

I've tried it both ways an noted no real change in performance. Todd says it has no effect.

PS: I don't think the baffles do squat for reducing sound, at least not to my ear. Maybe takes the...

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA

Andy, I think the airflow is relates to that 1:3 in-out ration. I screwed up just a bit and made my front cutout too big, or at least bigger than it needed to be. You got nice clean small holes...

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA

Cost? You get no Pitts muffler, No smoke muffler, only one size of standoff available, no switch, no carb sticking out the side.....as said above add it all up and the Syssa just isn't that much...
