RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

Bought my old stampede back yesterday. Now has an flm extended chassis, mashers, sidewinder 4600 system, running on 2s lipo. I've owned tons of rc's and something about the pede's is addicting.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

8-32 is pretty beefy, and you can get them in hardened steel. I had to drill out the airplane wheels alot to get the axles to fit through.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

I've made a couple wheelie bars. I never bent the 8-32 screws I used as axles.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

There is nothing wrong with the product, it's the effect they have on the other parts. Think of sticking a rod through your hub in place of the axle. Is it going to be easier to break it with a long...

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

Not to burst your bubble but truly widening it with longer arms or different hubs is a better option. Wideners put increased leverage on the bearings and hubs, and jumping/rough surfaces will wear...

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

I would go with the 5700 if I were you. You will get bored or the 4600's.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

Aluminum is lighter but will wear alot quicker being the softest gear in the gearbox.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

I got moabs and they hook up in anything, but they come all twisted/malformed/unbalanced from the factory. They must be balanced and worn in a few runs with a fast motor or they'll quickly ruin your...

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

I wouldnt go below a 15t mod motor on a stock esc, even a 17t will have better performance than the included 12t. It may sound fast because of the turn rating, but ultimately the quality of a higher...

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

I'd go to cheapbatterypacks.com and have them build you up something, you can choose whatever cells you want. I tend to avoid 4200's for bashing as they dont take as much crap as gp's.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

Well in your case it does sound like a savvy would be nice. 4wd and big tires really help in the grass. I just dont like the hassle nitro engines present.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

Well, I have a nitro mt and electrics, not a savage though. Have you owned a nitro? If you already have batts and a charger and stuff I would stick with brushless electric. Nitro can cost quite a bit...

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

With moabs I would run a 14t pinion at most. 14/90 is a popular combo for big tires and mambas. 16/87 seems pretty high.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

Well if you're doing that, I'd get a mamba max, traxxas steel gears, and a swami-bar.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

Get the vxl for sure. It comes with steel gears stock, you will need to replace them in your current pede if you want to go brushless. It also includes a front toe blace to protect your bulkheads, a...

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

FLM sells awesome aluminum parts. Get an aluminum idler and steel outdrives for running brushless.
