RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

It's quite noticable, especially with high current draw. Your tamiya connectors are going to melt together eventually anyway so you might as well change them.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

These trucks are a blast once you upgrade to brushless.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

I still own the 2wd truck I built, so I will still have that to mess around with. Like you said, 4wd accelerates awesome and I'm going to be drag racing alot of 2wd's so I should get a nice jump at...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

The sidewinder handles 3s fine. My friend is running one is a stampede with mashers. With the timing low the temps stay within a safe range too.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

True, but I very rarely broke parts on my firestorm because I was very careful so I'm not too worried.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Well I am officially trading my firestorm for a crt .5 mini truggy. I loved the firestorm but I'm wanting a 4wd stadium truck.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Ya that was overkill lol. All I do is cover the esc board in silicone, throw the esc in a balloon, bag the switch, and put a bead of silicone on all the joints of the servo. I've run this setup in...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

A123 are limn, another type of battery. That first charger is a popular one, not sure about the second one.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Good lipos will run you $100 minimum I would say, I'm no expert with lipo though. You will alos need a lipo compatible charger.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Lipo is the big name in batteries these days, but if you want nimh any ib, gp, or ep batteries with at least 4200mah should be good. My backyard track has 3-5 foot lanes and it's tricky to get used...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

No idea exactly but I would guess 5700kv would do low-mid 30's on 6 cells.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Definitely at a local/club level. It handles good and has some durability on the competition.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

I got my regular e-firestorm for $180 w/free shipping. Then throw in a sidewinder and voila, same price if not cheaper than a flux.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Haven't I always been saying this?:D A stock traxxas is nowhere near comparable to a stock firestorm.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Actually industrial velcro or good double sided tape work great if not better and are easily reversible unlike holes in the chassis.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

They're these- http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXANU1&P=7 They will fit perfect on the rear but are a bit too long for the front. Great looking and very smooth.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Got some anodized aluminum shocks I may be throwing on my firestorm. Borrowing some ib4200's from a friend and the power is amazing compared to my age old 37's.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

LoL, that is degrading the firestorm by saying the slash has better turning. Somehting is wrong if a slash turns tighter. My turn radius is no more a couple feet which is tight for an off road.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

AE uses large ball studs I believe. I bought of set of rpm's and they were too large in that area.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Epoxy will lock the diff, having a completely different affect than a lsd. I packed mine with very thick grease and it doesn't provide the action I would like. It still whips out really easy around...
